About this item
- Stainless steel
- Imported
- EVER-READY BLADE: The quick-release clip lets you remove this tool with one hand. When open, a frame lock keeps blade secure, so there's no wobble when you're powering through a cut. A built-in fob lets you attach it to the zipper of your jacket or bag.
- EVERY DAY CARRY: Part of Gerber's Daily Carry collection, this Zip Blade is the bulldog of utility knives. Squat enough to fit in the palm of your hand, it has enough muscle to strip wire, cut cardboard, and slice through toughest of clamshell packaging.
- PREPARED: We know being prepared isn't a state of being so much as a philosophy. Sometimes the job's cutting twine or slicing open a box; try those things without a blade enough times and you'll appreciate the compact efficiency of the GDC Zip Blade.
- COMPACT SIZE: .68 Inches, Closed Length: 1.7 Inches
- GERBER GUARANTEE: As a testament to our unrelenting commitment to quality and service, Gerber is proud to offer a limited lifetime warranty on all products

- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2025Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseIt’s a handy blade when you need. One in places for blades aren’t generally allowed. I would recommend attaching it to a zipper, or key ring, or necklace. They’re very easily lost.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2025Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseLove this little thing. My work does not allow us to carry "pocket knives" so I carry this on my Keychain. Works well and discrete.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2025Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseIf you're just looking for an extremely small blade for a keychain, I would look at other options. But if you really do want to use it as a zipper pull this is a good choice because it is so small. I took off a star because out of the box I had a problem with the liner lock. It didn't lock reliably at all, I was able to fix it but not before almost breaking it in the process. My other complaint is it's a little tight so it's not super easy to deploy the blade, it's not bad but it's far from smooth, combined with the small size makes it a little annoying. It is however very sharp out of the box although it would be difficult to sharpen.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2025Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseLove this little blade. Use it mostly to open vacuum sealed parts in plastic bag, and occasional ribbon cable trimming after assembling a new cable. Blade is very sharp out of the box. I'm not very good at blade sharpening, but get lucky and able to get it back to the almost razor blade edge.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseI haven’t used it yet but as other reviews have said, this thing is small. I gave it 5stars because gerber makes quality products and the dimensions are posted. I got it for work but I really liked the clip design, the loop connects to a plastic part you squeeze to free the knife. The knife is also a liner lock

- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2024Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseWanted this for a while. Used it on jackets and fishing gear so I don’t lose another knife. Unfortunately small size of the knife makes it hard to operate with one hand. The media could not be loaded.
Need two to open and close.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2013Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseI haven't had the need to use this yet, but I have cut up some cardboard with it, just to check it out.
No matter how small you think this is, it'll be smaller than you were expecting when you get in your hands. I have it hanging on my jacket's zipper pull and I don't even notice it. It's nice to know that I've got an emergency blade on me if I'm without my EDC (which isn't very often). I also have a little Victorinox on my keychain, so I doubt I'll ever have a real NEED for this, but it's still nice to know it's there. It's so small and so cheap, you can keep one in the tackle box, one in the glove box, one for the purse, one on your fall jacket, one on your winter coat, one on your pack or bookbag, give 'em away as cool little gifts...
The blade is remarkably sturdy for something so small. It doesn't feel like a "toy" knife. The frame lock secures the blade beyond any fear of it closing on you. The blade also seats on a ball bearing when closed, so it's a little tough to open (long nails may break). The blade seats a little past the 90 degree point (seats, NOT locks) too, so you can hook your finger over the back of the blade to use as a pulling hook blade, rather than fully opening it to the locking position. Blade was pretty sharp, but don't expect to shave with it. The blade is also stout enough to use as a small pry tool (would have no risk of damage levering up the pull tab on a soup can, for example) although Gerber probably would say it's a cutting blade, not a pry tool. Still, for $7, who cares? You could even use the back of the blade as a small scraping tool. It's surprisingly comfortable and feels pretty good in the hand. You really get solid purchase on it. It doesn't "swim" in your hand, nor feel too small to be useful.
I'd recommend this to anyone from homemaker to student to outdoorsperson. Great stocking stuffer.

Matthias K.Reviewed in Germany on July 21, 20155.0 out of 5 stars Sehr klein und praktisch

Troy's ReviewsReviewed in Australia on April 8, 20255.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for any key chain
Style: Zip BladeVerified PurchaseI finally found the perfect key chain knife. Tiny but has a Liner lock it is about 3mm thick blade so it's not flimsy like most key chain knives.
