We bought these to use at Disneyworld. After one day of heavy downpour taking them off and on as we went from outside to inside they are still in great shape and back in their resealable bags for next use. They aren't great quality but perfect for what we needed. I would recommend.

Shoddy quality - don't waste your money unless you only want to wear it once for a few hours

I bought this to put in my Emergency Kit just in case of, well, a life threatening emergency. But when my trip to Disneyworld came up and I didn't have a rain jacket, in went my Bear Grylls Survival Poncho! I thought I was set.

Turns out this thing didn't even survive half a day of Florida rain at an amusement park. It's flimsy and it had 2 large rips within four hours of wearing.

If you want to use this for half a day and throw it away, go ahead. But it's not actually going to last any longer than that. Don't waste your money for an actual survival situation - you need something hardier.

The survival tips from Bear Grylls were pretty fun to read in line at Disneyworld, though!

About the cheapest you can pay for a poncho that is better than bare minimum. Thick enough you can reuse without worrying about tearing. Very large and fits over easily. Also you don't have to fold it perfect to put back into original bag.

It's probably the nicest $4 poncho you can buy with free shipping. It is more durable and fits better than most of the disposable raincoats, and takes up very little space (especially if you vacuum seal it in a bag). But of course, calibrate your expectations accordingly: it's a disposable emergency gadget to put in your backpack or you car, not a durable article of clothing.

I bought this for my son to use at camps, etc. it's a decent basic travel poncho. It isn't as nice as the more lasting nylon fabric type ones that we have at home but this one does the job and keeps the kid dry enough. The quality is better than the super cheap ones you find in dollar stores. You're probably paying a bit more just for the name but that was alright because my kid is a fan.

I bought this because I'm starting a new career as a trucker and I read that it's advisable to equip yourself with a poncho. I like that it's orange, so it has a higher visibility than say a black poncho. I was a little disappointed that the material is little more thick than a typical trash bag but it does fold easily back into the storage pouch that comes with it. This is a great buy if you're not looking to spend a whole lot on a poncho that will keep you dry from the rain.

I was tricked by the Bear Grylls name. The package should show him wearing the poncho instead of a jacket. Then you could see that's it's see thru and good for 1 or 2 uses. You can get poncho's this thin at the dollar store.

It's definitely better than the cheapest ones available, and the light weight does make it perfect for backpacking. If I wanted/needed more protection I would probably look for a rain suit, but then we're looking a lots of cash for a good one.
