Like the men and women who carry our gear, Gerber is Unstoppable. Decades of innovation and dedication have put us here. Renowned as a master of knives and tools, Gerber's problem-solving, life-saving products are designed with the unique needs of specific activities in mind. Today that includes much more than a blade.
With its straight spine and seamless design, the Gerber 22-41493 EVO Jr. Knife with Serrated Edge offers extreme usability in an eye-pleasing design. Besides its aesthetic qualities, the EVO Jr. boasts a high-quality carbon stainless steel blade as well as a thumb stud and finger clip for easy one-handed opening.
The serrated stainless steel blade and lightweight aluminum handle make this is one tough, all-purpose knife. View larger.
The EVO Jr.'s profile reveals a seamless design that begins at the back of the blade and continues along the upper edge of the handle. This gives the knife the look, feel, and power of a dagger and makes it ideal for range of around-the-house and outdoor uses.
Anodized Aluminum Handle for Lighter Weight
To help give the knife a more powerful and aggressive feel--key if you're using it for rugged activities like cutting through brush or weeds--the anodized aluminum handle features seven slanting oval openings. Beyond their organic look, these openings also serve to further reduce the knife's overall weight, making it easier to handle and hold.
Durable High Carbon Stainless Steel Construction
Constructed of high carbon stainless steel coated with titanium nitride for increased corrosion resistance, the EVO Jr.'s blades can handle anything that comes their way, no matter what the conditions. A thumb stud and finger clip ensure easy one-handed operation--great for when you're holding a box ready for cutting in one hand, and the knife in the other. For an extra measure of safety, there's an internal finger guard.
Compact for Portability
The EVO Jr. has an overall length of 6.35 inches with a blade length of 2.75 inches and weighs just 1.8 ounces, so it's easy to toss it in a bag, backpack, or pocket.
About Gerber: A History of Innovation
Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that have contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939.
It makes sense, really. An idea man gets the idea of a lifetime and turns it into a major outdoor brand--one that commands respect among knife lovers and knife makers alike. And now that same high regard is spreading in new directions, in the form of many outstanding products such as tools, personal L.E.D. lighting, and more.

BTW - the blade is some kind of hardened steel and takes a little extra swipe to get a nice sharp edge.
I prefer the fine blade over the serrated because they're easier to sharpen.
This knife is great to have in your pocket because it's not too cumbersome and doesn't get in the way.
I absolutely love the assisted open knob (for lack of a better term) that protrudes from the back when the knife is closed. It makes it easy to flick open into the fully extended/locked position with one swift press of my index finger. The first knife I had took some time to loosen up to this point of ease, but this latest one came out of the box already "broken in" so to speak.
No cons to speak of. Each person might have different initial results but this knife is well worth the purchase.
The knife feels sturdy, and I also like its look and weight.
Very tight clip
Comes sharp and stays sharp
Very tight clip
You notice that I put tight clip in both categories. Its a good thing because I lose some knives because the clip is loose. It's a bad thing because if you aren't wearing a substantial article of clothing (ie jeans) it will tear the pocket up. It's also smaller than I expected. I ordered the Evo Jr for its size but it's REALLY small. I don't have very large hands but it's kind of hard to open with one hand due to its small size. Other than that its awesome.
Regardless of which hand I use, it feels good. I am lefty, and I find the clip slightly less in the way with it in my left. I think you can take the clip off or move it to the other side, but I haven't tried. Regardless, it isn't a problem to grip with my right.
