Like the men and women who carry our gear, Gerber is Unstoppable. Decades of innovation and dedication have put us here. Renowned as a master of knives and tools, Gerber's problem-solving, life-saving products are designed with the unique needs of specific activities in mind. Today that includes much more than a blade.
Comfortable to hold and easily pocketable, the Gerber E.A.B. Lite features a utility blade that's replaceable with either 2-1/4-inch contractor grade or standard size utility blades. This pocket-sized cutter is great for a variety of tasks--from opening boxes to slicing rope. Offering a tapered shape with rounded edges, the E.A.B. Lite has deep finger grooves that for a secure grip, and it sports a stainless steel handle that also doubles as a pocket or money clip. When open, the E.A.B. Lite measures 5.1 inches, and it closes down to 2.8 inches. It's nicely lightweight at just 2.5 ounces. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The blades are the standard box cutter blades, and you can get them pretty cheaply in packs of 100 or more. I have a pack at work and a pack at home so if I need it I can get one. You can also flip the blade when one side gets dull, so you'll usually have access to a good sharp blade.
It's also quite light and compact so it can go just about anywhere. Mine goes into one of the Molle straps on my backpack and it fits perfectly in there so it holds tight to the bag.
Love the compact form, and when open it is actually much more comfortable in hand than I expected. Lockup is solid with no play in either direction and the blade it comes with is thick and sturdy.
Not really "Lite" for its size
Gerber is written in large letters on the clip for everyone to see
The clip is very stiff and annoying so I just keep it in my coin pocket
The blade can't be changed quickly without tools, you need a flathead screwdriver or a coin to unscrew the blade to change it.
Opening is doable one handed but not as easily as I would like. If the screw head protruded more it would make deployment easier.
There were some very sharp burs on a few of the handle edges, one on the lock bar which made it uncomfortable to disengage the lock. I fixed this by filing the burs off, which revealed something WEIRD. The silver "stainless steel" (at least that's what the packaging says) is only a thin layer at the top, underneath is what seems to be a copper layer, and under that some other type of low grade metal. Very confusing. The steel seems very soft which makes me think that the lockup will develop some play over time as the steel wears. We will see.
Overall I like it and carry it as a backup to my main blade so anytime I have to cut some nasty stuff or someone asks to borrow my knife, I have this instead of only my nicer more expensive folders.
This particular design, while beautiful, requires a coin or screwdriver to replace the blade, and that's a shame. Everything else about it is great. Check out the "Husky" version, they have a much faster blade replacement strategy, but are not as beautiful.
I have had a bunch of razors, many of which I have lost or had to throw away before going into sporting events because I forget I have them.(I always carry a blade of some sort)
This is so far, the best for my needs. A razor is a razor, but its size is PERFECT for my day to day both at work and at play.
