Right away I was impressed with these shears. We just went through cleaning 41 pheasants last week, cutting off wings, legs & heads, then cutting out the backbone, and we had absolutely no problems. These shears made quick work of the job of cleaning the birds so we could get on with enjoying the rest of the evening. I highly recommend them.
Clean up of these shears was easy as they come apart so feathers came off without a problem.
Case: they also came with a case for storing, which happens to have a belt loop. I just used the case for carrying them around.
I know other reviewers mentioned the small size of the openings for your thumb and finger. Yes, they are small. I'm a woman with a size 5 ring finger, very small hands and they fit me very nicely. So if you're a man- they may not fit as well. But if you're a woman, you're in luck because they actually will fit your hands. So Gerber PLEASE DON'T change a thing. These are perfect!
Buy your wife a pair of these for cutting apart chicken- she'll love you for it.
I have not had a chance to clean any game with them yet but hopefully next duck season I will get a chance to try them out.

Probably good shears if you have the hands of a third grader. The handles are too small. You can get really good shears for a little more money if you buy OXO shears.Published 10 months ago by john j shows
Not the strongest set of bone shears I've owned but they cut nicely. Easy to clean and easy to sharpen when needed.Published 11 months ago by Daniel Olson
