From the Manufacturer
The Gerber L.S.T. is the smoothest of operators. With a mechanical action that just feels good and satisfying when you open and close the blade, which happens to be made of 400 series stainless steel. The heaviest of the four legendary L.S.T. models musters a mere 1.2 ounces on the scales. Yet, when you feel that easy grip, there's no question that Pete Gerber's big idea is one for the ages.
Top customer reviews
The materials and construction are good. This knife replaced a Buck light that I had carried for years and "lost" at an unexpected security check point. (A senior citizen with a small pocket knife is is a formidable threat.) This knife is slightly more compact but as functional. I would recommend either, but tried this one because it was USA manufacture. I would buy again.
-A great, compact pocket knife for backpacking, with a ultra-sharp edge
This knife is highly recommended in the ultralight backpacking community, and for good reason. It's extraordinarily light while having a solid construction quality and fine enough edge to be useful despite its small stature. The grip on the handle is quite good, and the overall quality is great. The edge itself comes very very sharp, and blunts at a fairly slow rate. I've used mine to try and saw through materials i had no business cutting through (i.e. metal) and the edge has held fine despite my acute mistreatment. It's starting to dull now after some serious usage. Overall, I love this knife and how compact it is
Even my cheap chinese knife hasn't rusted. Have to start looking at other brands, too bad though.
Very solid, sharp and light - not much else could be expected of a pocket knife, except that the price also very resonable.
