The DFS 230 assault glider carrying eight troops. First used to capture Belgian Fort Eben-Emael during the 1940 blitzkreig.
The Fiesler 103R piloted version of the V-1 buzzbomb. It appears to have been championed by proponents of extreme measures.
The Ta 154 wooden night fighter. Nazi version of British Mosquito. Plagued by slow production, then in-flight glue failures.
Ju 86 bomber, initially with diesel engines. Many were re-engined with more reliable gasoline power. It left frontline service before war started.
Fritz X anti-ship missile. Dropped from planes, guided by radio, used in Mediterranean. Hit USS Savannah & others off Italy.
Siebel Si 204 utility twin light transport. Built in France by SNCAC for the Luftwaffe, even continuing after the war.
Each minor type gets 2-3 pages, the major ones perhaps a dozen to cover the variations. Brief description of engines, operational history and designer. On a par with Warplanes of the Third Reich.
An appendix lists government assigned "Type numbers" and where the type remained just a paper project or was built in test quantities only, brief details are given for it. Another appendix gives a list of all known wartime aircraft projects. Where survivors of each type exists, then current details are given on the number of each and general locations.
If you're interesting in going beyond the usual well-known German types, this book will be of great benefit to you.
