Gestalt Therapy (Theories of Psychotherapy) 1st Edition, Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

This book provides an introduction to the theory, historical evolution, research, and practice of Gestalt therapy, which arose in reaction to the dominant psychotherapy approaches of the mid-twentieth century. Open-ended and inquisitive, Gestalt is a set of guiding principles that inspire an active, present-focused, relational stance on the part of the therapist. This essential primer, amply illustrated with case examples featuring diverse clients, is perfect for graduate students studying theories of therapy and counseling, as well as for seasoned practitioners interested in understanding how this approach has evolved and how it might be used in their own practice.

Review

Gestalt Therapy represents an incredibly impressive work that, to students and veteran psychologists alike, provides a meaningful gift that invites us to examine and expand our perceptions, not only of our clients, but also of ourselves and our field.” –PsycCRITIQUES

Comprehensive and easy to read overview of the Gestalt modality.

The concept of Gestalt therapy is seminal and fascinating, but why do all of its writers use such gassy prose? The first fifty pages are pithy and well-edited. After that, it becomes almost unintelligible.

Es el único libro sobre Gestalt editado por APA, lo cual le da un extraordinario valor y creo que han elegido a autores muy importantes para escribirlo.
