Even if you're not already a fan of the podcast, this is a great book to help streamline your time management and productivity system. And it's a fun read too. Highly recommended!
The cover and general writing approach may come across as cartoonish; however, the subject matter is quite serious and Stever's recommendations forced me to think and focus. And that is the key to the book - focus. To better take on the 1000 things, I have to focus on (1) Work/Home Life Map in order to easily discard the 80% irrelevant tasks and prioritize the remaining 20%; (2) personal discipline to conquer procrastination, technology, distractions, and wasting time; (3) organize, optimize and leverage; and (4) build solid relationships. This is Management 101, but we forget. This book helps point you back in the right direction.
The book is similar to the Podcast, so if you are already following his channel you might not need the book.
But if you don't listen to Podcasts or you prefer the book version, this is one of the best book about the topic.
Very enjoyable and very practical instructions for both big and small stuffs in your life such as how to set goals how to keep your focus, or how to deal with every-day tasks efficiently.
The instructions are also very easy for normal people to follow, the writer tried to make everything as effortless as possible to be accomplished (and he really did a good job).
I do think this book is easier to listen to than read. I know I gained a lot more perspective by listening than by reading, however, I liked being able to save pages and highlight things.
He is definitely an organization geek, which I like.
The only thing in this book that I'd heard before (and I listen to a lot of these organizational books) was breaking your week up into Admin Day/Focus Day/Spirit Days. Otherwise, I felt the content was new--or perhaps, shared in a way with a new perspective on things that I appreciated.
Smart book if you're trying to improve how you do things and to stop procrastinating and do things better.
