I really enjoyed reading through Get Fit Yoga Poses - Secrets to Sculpting a Summer Yoga Body by Julie Schoen. I have downloaded it to my iPpad and reference it often. Being a busy mom to six children, I don't often get a chance to go to the gym or yoga class but I do enjoy yoga. Some peaceful music, a yoga text and 20 minutes each day are my form of meditation and help to center me for the day ahead.

I found it to be very inspirational. The tone is conversational and encouraging. This book is jam packed with information and it is all laid out in a very helpful and logical format. Nutrition is not ignored but neither is it expounded upon.

The text breaks down the yoga exercises into several series meant to specific target areas including: spine; arms; abs; legs and butt.
Each flow, or series of exercises, is explained well and the poses are described in both Sanskrit and their common English names. The photography is beautiful. The setting picturesque. The yogi is modestly clad. There is little question as to how the pose should look when done correctly.

**Suggestion for improvement - change the cover image. A skimpy bikini focuses too much on 'sexiness' and not enough on inner well-being and overall fitness. I am glad I looked past this.

I think that this book is an amazing reference. You can learn from even if you are a complete novice looking to start practicing on your own. Even better would be someone with experience who just wants to learn how to better make yoga work better for them. The depth of yoga practice is large and not everyone will get what they want from a standard class at the gym or YMCA. This text puts the power in your hands. Target the areas that are important to you.

This book, Get Fit Yoga Poses: Secrets to Sculpting a Summer Yoga Body (Just Do Yoga Book 8), was written by Julie Schoen and Little Pearl in an informative, yet concise manner. This book begins with copyright information, disclaimer, and information on other products offered by the author. The book then displays a table of contents, which does not contain page numbers on which one can locate the beginning of each chapter; however, on the Kindle version of the book, each chapter and section of the book is written in a hyperlink fashion. This is done to enable the user to simply click the chapter they are interested in prior to being automatically directed to the first page of that chapter or section. I consider the hyperlinks to be a nice, easy method to flip to a certain chapter in this book. The book goes into a short discussion as to why swimsuit models love yoga and why eating healthy is important in the first two chapters respectively. Chapter 3 is dedicated to yoga poses, separated in terms of the body benefits of the yoga poses. There is a short introduction to each section of yoga poses. Each pose contains a title, picture, and directions for the pose. There are 7 poses to aid in a healthy spine, 7 poses to aid in sculpting and toning arms, 7 poses to aid in ab definition, 7 poses to aid in toning legs, and 3 poses to aid in sculpting the butt. The book ends with a final note from the authors.

I enjoyed the lack of filler information in this book, the lack of grammatical or spelling errors, and the vast array of poses for each portion of the body. There are poses which can be performed by beginners, as well as more advanced poses. I will admit that you will have to pause often to turn the page, analyze the pose, and read the description.

I got this Kindle book from Julie Schoen and Little Pearl. This is book eight of their Just Do Yoga series. I have done a couple of their other books in this series and really liked them. I also have some yoga equipment from them and have been really happy with all of those products. This book focuses on sculpting a summer body. Although I will admit I am a bit skeptical about sculpting a summer body from yoga, but I do know for a face, even though I am a beginner at yoga, that my body is stronger and healthier from the yoga I have done. So why not try this book out? The author does interject that eating well is important too. She discusses slowing down your chewing habits, listening to your body more, and eating more fat-burning foods. I don’t necessarily agree with the fat-burning foods but that’s just my opinion. The yoga section of the book begins with healthy spines which leads to correct posture. There are pictures and descriptions of poses such as locust, cobra, and bound angle pose. In the section on arms, she suggests moves such as walking plank, dolphin, and upward facing bow. In the section on abs, she assures readers that hundreds of crunches are useless until the fat is chiseled away from the body, and she recommends moves like sun salutations, boat pose and plank moves. The legs section has poses like chair pose, warrior, and bridge. Then there is a glute (butt) section which shows things like goddess pose, lunges, and eagle. Every single pose has a picture to go along with it and awesome description. I love this book and I can’t wait to incorporate it into my routine! I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
