Excellent album! I was introduced to Acid Pauli through Damian Lazarus's podcast (Lazpod #16) several years ago and have been hooked ever since. His style is so eclectic and creative and the tracks blend in wonderfully together. This is a great album for the subway ride or listening to in a lounge. So happy he has joined forces with Crosstown Rebels (Lazarus's label). Hope to hear more from them for years to come!

Wonderfully mixed... this music will keep you interested from beginning to end. Some chill tracks... some dance tracks... but above all else, thoughtfully stitched together. Love this album so much.

Jesus. I have to admit I was not a fan the first time I heard this mix, just shelved it and did not come back to it until a later time when I had gotten tired of more favorite mixes. I decided to pop this one back in about 6 months later and was blown away. ALL THREE MIXES. TRACK AFTER TRACK.... just plain sick.

Mix 1: Excellent opener, leads the listener into the darker unknown.
Mix 1.5: You get as a download if you purchase the album, AND YOU NEED THIS SET IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND WHERE PAULI IS COMING FROM. This one really sealed the deal for me, when I hear samples of Kraftwerk, country, jazz, and something/someone that sounded like Leonard Cohen being mixed in with the craziest and dopest tech house music sounds.
Mix 3: Simply just a BANGER. Every single track was so HOT!..... Can't get enough. I'm hooked on this triple mix. DOPE DOPE DOPE! ... Acid Pauli is IN the house.

If for no other reason, Acid Pauli's Get Lost V is outstanding because of what Martin Gretschman does with The Band That Never Met's beautifully arranged cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire." It is full of sultry loneliness and longing, making it the most haunting track on all of the two disc album. I don't think I've ever heard a better compilation of electronica and groove, especially since it transcends electronica to become music that any one could like, not just fans of the genre.

Mixmag reviewer James Lawrence writes that you can file this under "abstract funk theory" and he's absolutely right. On songs like "What You\\\\\\\'re Doing" and "Bright Eyes, Dirty Hair" you just want to settle into your soul and glide along to the smooth, serene beats. On almost every part, as disjointed in musical style as some of them can be, you feel like you're floating along on a cloud that will never let you down. Gorgeous, upbeat, sad, mellow, sensual...it all combines to become one amazing collection.
