The books way of teaching anger management is great as it not only explains what anger is, how it can be avoided or controlled, but it also gives the authors personnal experiences in dealing with real anger as he has his own practice, and what i personnaly enjoyed was the workbook part of it.
In each chapter there are questions in regards to the readers own personnal experiences with anger and other from childhood up until adulthood. The questions help one apply the tevhniques given by the author and also in my case help understand what triggers my anger, like understanding, difining, and letting other know about my boundaries! This i beleive that without the book i would have never done, or even understood. Get Over It!: Anger n' YOU
Dr. Gordon emphasizes that anger is a "normal human emotion" and that having this emotion doesn't make a person into a monster. Nevertheless, a person must learn useful techniques that will help him/her deal with the anger in a healthy and positive way.
This book provides reflection questions that helps the reader understand him/herself better. It also touches on the importance of setting boundaries, the art of communicating with others and the importance of expressing your feelings and thoughts.
This book really helped me understand myself better.
**I also liked that it had a Kindle edition.**
I definitely recommend this book to anyone out there who is having a hard time dealing with their emotions since at the end of every chapter there are questions that are posed to you that make you think twice about certain behaviors you are displaying and how you react to things.
Give this book two thumbs up!
It is a great book for personal self help or for utilizing in a group. Get Over It is a easy read with great stories and easy to relate subjects. I recommend that everyone have a personal copy.
