As a former therapist for 35+ years and current life coach, I'll be recommending this book to clients. That's how important I think these stories of hope are.
These ladies are REAL, they just shared their experiences, letting you in to see how things can change. The stories were well crafted, drawing me in to read every one in a single sitting.
You will find echoes of yourself and people you know in this book, and be inspired to be more brave to become more of yourself.
I loved it.
We all have stuff in our heads that keep us from being our best self, and that's the premise of this book. But it's told in a beautiful and HAPPY tone that tells us that we're all smart, beautiful, lovable, and worthy in spite of that. You will cry, and you will spend some time contemplating your own negative self-talk, but you'll love this book and its message. And you might just end up getting PAST your own "stuff" in the process.
I felt my jaw drop reading several stories, my heart break, and did a fist pump or two when the ladies turned things around, broke through, or were healing. I have had trouble reading and finishing a book this year and this collection had me up til the wee hours three nights running. Mark of good writing, editing, and inspiring stories. It’s not often a nonfiction anthology or collection reads like an addictive page-turner. Would highly recommend to all my girlfriends and pals, especially those of us on the fearless side of forty.
