About the Author
Mercedes Sanchez, M.S., R.D., is FamilyCook's resident dietician. Her specialization is in pediatric and family nutrition. She holds a Masters in Clinical Nutrition from NYU and has served as a registered dietician for the pediatric department of Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Her philosophy has always focused a multicultural approach to teaching children about family meal values and nutrition. She resides just outside of Paris, France.

When I started this book there was a LOT of snacking and pushing healthier foods away from the table. It got to the point where we were all eating different dinners at different times and not really sitting down to have a meal-- which meant way less family time on a regular basis.
What I love about this book is that it not only guides you to eating more healthy family meals, but actually getting everyone helping in the KITCHEN. My boys are 8 and 10 and they've started to prepare dinner with me just about every night. My older one has even prepared the fruit and chocolate fondue recipe in this book for his friends after soccer practice!
This book has been a God-send in helping me bring a culture of cooking food and eating food together into my home. Fully recommend!
