One reviewer, "For instance, take the question, what can Google Scripts do for emails (if anything)?"
There are also, literally, several sections that talks about how you can do things using emails. Open the kindle book and search email and you get 73 results. Lot of times email is used for various functions., but since the 2 star reviewer wonders what it can do, if anything regarding emails there is an entire section that talks about GmailApp class and goes into a number of things that you can do with it. This is in addition to generating emails from different apps like sheets or emailing someone form data, etc. emailing script made PDFs based on web data, text, spreadsheet data, etc.
Little tip ~ The book is only 125 pages or so. Look at it and then review it.
Me, I liked it and it is a great addition to the Udemy course that I also have from Laurence.
Google Apps is pretty powerful and a great way to learn a language, if like me, you need to learn by being able to apply what you learn to meaningful things and since I use spreadsheets everyday learning Apps Script is much easier and many of the examples are based on sheets.
If you are an 'applied science' kind of learner, get this book and at least play around with it. If you are new to languages get it anyway and check out his udemy courses. Apps Script is pretty much Java Script so anything you learn from Apps Script will be teaching you Java Script as well. But since you have the added benefit of the knowledge of interacting with google doc products.
This book breaks down the code in an easy to understand way and he guides you through the various projects.
With many screenshots, you are helped through the process visually.
Great book!
For instance, take the question, what can Google Scripts do for emails (if anything)?
The only way to find out if the book has anything to say about that (or ANY broad topic), is to flip every page and see there is anything said (search function couldn't find anything either).
Without some guide of where to find specific topics or info, the book is rendered not very useful. (Unless you just want to read it like a novel)
