Personally, I think this should have been a box set and have ALL of the episodes from Gettysburg all the way to Loretta Lynn's Plantation House episodes. Do we all agree on this?

First of all, I'm a very biased reviewer since I've loved the show since its inception with the documentary "Ghost Adventures" that was aired in 2004. Zac, Nick, and Aaron have the three crucial elements that set their ghost investigative series above and beyond the rest: 1) compelling audio/video evidence, 2) entertaining, and 3) scary as hell! Other series like Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Ghost Stories, Celebrity Ghost Stories, etc. are okay, but they are missing one or more of the crucial elements listed above (some do great investigative work and have superb evidence, yet are neither entertaining nor scary...as a show on the paranormal should be).

One particular detail I really love about the show is that they replay audio/video phenomena 3 times, so you can hear or see what's going on when they capture evidence - whereas other shows only replay once, so you don't know exactly what you heard or saw. Another particular detail I like is the format; the boys go through the history of a haunted place for the 1st half of the show, then they do their creepy/chilling investigations for the 2nd half of the show (great to watch late at night with all the lights off on a surround speaker system).

One critique I agree with (in regards to some of the comments listed already) is that the seasons on disc don't correspond with the seasons on TV, which causes some confusion. The reasoning behind this, I think, is that consumers can get more episodes for their buck when they buy the DVDs (for example: season 2 only had 8 episodes on TV, while the DVD had 12+1 episodes [some from season 3 on TV]). I already bought all the seasons/episodes on iTunes, where the seasons (or volumes as listed on iTunes) match the TV seasons, so I already know the order they go in.

I had to cancel my satellite service when this season was airing, and it really sucked. I got it back on and they are showing some of the episodes prior to the new ones, but I am sure there is a bunch I haven't seen yet. I wish they would list the episodes here, as because I bought the season 2 DVD, and upon research, (looked up the epsidoes and seasons on travelchannel.com) found out that season 3 was added on to the season two disc, so shouldn't this be season 4? If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. I thought they are currently on season 5. Anyway, I love the show and can watch the episodes over and over. The evps and the spirit box are awesome, and if someone watches this shows and is still a skeptic, then I just don't know what other proof they would need. The guys aren't bad to look at either, so that helps.

While I realize the DVD's may not match the episode seasons as they premiere on TV, it's misleading when ppl say there's duplicate episodes on the DVD seasons bought. Unlike Paranormal State where they HAVE just given longer versions of previous episodes and thrown it on a new disc; that is not the case with Ghost Adventures.

My only complaint is the way the discs are set up. With shows like this where there's multiple episides, I like the choice of the 'PLAY ALL' option so they run consecutively. These discs don't have the play all option so you have to choose them individually.

Other than that, what makes this show so different is their true passion to prove the existence of life after death/entities and spirits that still linger after death. They don't bring big camera crews (as they always say in their intro) which I really like. When they hear a sound, get an EVP, or see something, they make sure to not only show us what they've captured as the viewer, but they make sure to try and stay quiet after they initially freak out. I like this because they do their best to let us experience what they're experiencing.

Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, and other shows have seriously lacked in this department. On Paranormal State, I get so tired of seeing some camera angled at Ryan reacting to something.. yet we never know what he's reacting to beyond what he says he saw or heard. Even when they're all gathered around a computer screen in awe of some great evidence; we're stuck watching the crew reacting to watching the screen instead of us seeing what they're seeing.

There's an episode where Chip Coffey freaks out because he says the doorknob turned on its own next to him.
