The first song I heard off of this EP was Everything Is Embarrassing. It immediately wrapped me in a warm nostalgic blanket of synth and percussion, and hook-laden vox from the late 80's - early 90's. I was back in my childhood's consciousness crushing on my 5th grade classmate. The first song, Sad Dream is a beautifully simple loop of acoustic guitar, and the swooning smokey Sky simultaneously drowning you and tying you in her heart-stings. And, Ghost has some great guitar work, and its sliding western notions pull you into her despair, along with the elongated crooning. I haven't stopped listening to this since I bought it.

Sky Ferreira is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter who belies her age (she is still only 21). After a couple of early EPs and a song featured on the soundtrack for "The Vampire Diaries", Sky released this EP last Fall.

"Ghost" (5 tracks; 19 min.) starts with an introspective "Sad Dreams", but quickly shifts gears with a romping "Lost In My Bedroom". The title track is an acoustic guitar-driven wistful ballad that asks "What should I do now that/I know that we're doomed/I loved you most/And now you're a ghost/I walk right through". "Red Lips" is an all-out rocker. Last but not least is a jubilant "Everything Is Embarrassing", which has become Sky's signature song. In all, this is a very good EP, and I can't wait for her full-length debut album, which should be coming out later this year.

I had the good fortune of seeing Sky in concert this past weekend here in Cincinnati at the Bunbury music festival. She sang most of the songs from this EP and a number of new ones too. She looked great and her back-up band (a four-some) was tight. Unfortunately, Sky had to stop midway into her set due to serious voice issues (she looked like she was about to lose her voice completely). Still, for the 30 min. that she played, it was great. That aside, "Ghost" is highly recommended and let's bring on the debut album already!

Sky's new EP, Ghost, is an amazing adventure through the many genre's Sky is capable of crafting a hit in. Pop, singer-songerwriter, grunge, electro - you name it, Sky can nail it. From beginning to end, Ghost showcases Sky's amazing vocals and talented song writing ingenue. Pick up Ghost and be prepared to be a Sky Ferreira fan for life, if you're one of the ones who wasn't already.

Ferreira takes a nice stride away from typical pop music in this EP. Her voice is powerful, and shows through especially well in 'Ghost.' Each song seems to be taking influences from different forms of music. Overall, a nice treat before a full album comes out.

I heard Everything is Embarrassing before, and I wasn't feeling too hot about it, but after awhile it started to grow on me. Now I've bought this and I have come to appreciate and love absolutely EVERYTHING on this EP. Definitely one of my best decisions.

This album is really amazing; it looks like Sky is about to carve out a very own nice for herself in the music industry. There is a strong new wave influence on this EP which imo goes extremely well with her voice. All the songs are very refreshing and original. I really hope she continues to pursue this direction because it seems to me like this is really what she should be going for. If you're into mellow electronica type music at all you definitely owe it to yourself to check this out. Everything is Embarrassing is my favourite song on the album and one of my favourites of the year actually, but all the songs are great.

Although it is a jumble of different styles, Sky Ferreira has a beautiful voice and she sounds genuinely interested and attatched to each genre. My favorite songs include Everything is Embarrassing and Sad Dream. Red Lips and Lost in my Bedroom are also wonderful. Unfortunately, I can't say I like the title song Ghost too much - the lyrics are nice but there is just something lost and incomplete about it.

I highly reccomend it for those who are interested in artists/musicians with not only talent but dedication and interest in their work.
