"The action is non-stop and I find myself constantly asking, "How does she come up with this stuff?!" Author M.J. Shiller

"It has thrills, chills, a nice touch of humor, and a romance that's HOT. That's not fog wafting through the graveyard--it's steam!" Kathy Tosh
"The plot is fun, entertaining and different. There is a light humor woven into the story...This is a great debut novel in a new series and I am going to be looking out for the next installments!" Paranormalromancenovel.com

From the Author

Don't miss Kick The Candle, Book 2 in the Knight Games series.

Readers often ask me why I changed the name of the series from Monk's Hill Witch to Knight Games. When the book was re-released in September 2013, I reassessed the title in view of the series direction. While the original series title was appropriate for Grateful Knight's origination story, it wasn't encompassing enough for the series which goes far beyond how Grateful becomes the witch. Knight Games series, and the books inspired by games played at night (Ghost and the Graveyard, Kick the Can(dle), Queen(King) of the Hill...), captures the fun, sexy, and often deadly nighttime adventures of Grateful Knight and her cohorts.

I hope you enjoy getting to know Grateful Knight in The Ghost and the Graveyard and the introduction of my new and original supernatural entity, the Caretaker. Don't miss the exciting continuation of Grateful's story in Kick the Candle.

I read all of the reviews on this book before I got it. I was excited to read it because the reviews were so good. I'm not sure I read the same book as everyone else, because this book is awful. It's not well written and the characters lack any substance. Within the first two pages, Grateful was getting it on, if only in a dream. She gets all of her money taken by her boyfriend but doesn't go to the cops? She chooses to pay off the debt herself. Who does that? She has to take the power by having sex with Rick, meanwhile her friend, Michelle, is trapped with a vampire in her body and could die if they don't help in time, yet they have this long drawn out sexual encounter. Then she messes up the spell and the vampire flees...isn't she the most powerful witch in the world, doing these spells for centuries? She can release souls and judge them before they go on, but she can't figure out a simple salt circle? None of it makes any sense. Such a disappointment.

Again, I've wasted time reading to the end a book that just didn't cut it. I need to find a life...or learn to get rid of lousy stories instead of continuing on in hopes of it improving.

First... I can't stand it when one book pretty much requires that you read the next & the next & the next, ad naseum. Second, the first couple of chapters started out interesting; then the book took the usual (& I do mean the usual) twist into the same old story where she didn't know she had powers but amazingly learned to control them within minutes of discovering them.

I'm tired.

I was thrilled to find that The Ghost and the Graveyard is part of a series. After finishing this novel, which is a fast-paced, sensual, well-crafted piece, I was anxious to read on and continue the vicarious adventure of Grateful, her sexy ghost and the mysteries that lurk behind the graveyard gates. This novel is definately intended for mature audiences only. As such, I found myself carving out some reading time and wanting to pretend I was in college again so I could pull and all-nighter to stay up and read. Character development is top notch, as well as the underlying story which unfolds chapter by chapter and keeps the reader completely engaged and thirsty for the next scene, and the next, and the other after that!!! Now I anxiously await book #2. Well done!

Short skirt, broad sword and boots. You would think something exciting was happening and you would be wrong. This book ends on a .... oh wait, there is no ending... and it doesn't leave you wanting more... just an end to the danged story. I had to buy the second book to put a close to hours I wasted due to OCD and my illogical need for closure.

This book was on the Top 100 Best Free Kindle books list and what a gift! This is one of the best Free books I've seen for quite some time.

The world and character building were well balanced and pull you right in for a fast-paced, sexy ride. The main characters have relatable real-world problems and intriging supernatural challenges. Everything has a meaning so listen carefully so you can puzzle out the pieces. And, even though I don't know anyone who has Grateful Knight's relationship problems, they were exceptionally steamy and fun.

This series is off to a wonderful start. I purchased Kick the Candle (Book 2) and plan to start reading ASAP.

This story was well written but the plot falls short in some areas. It seems like the story needed more time to develop. Grateful finds out her house is haunted, accepts the ghost as a friend, and then becomes quite attached to him all in the space of a few days. Unlikely. A few weeks maybe. Her strong attraction to the caretaker can be explained with their metaphysical connection and that works. Also, our heroine finds out the supernatural exists, learns that there are a number of supes who would like to kill her, and decides to take on the battle against said supes - also all in the space of a few days. It would make more sense if the novel time took place over weeks or months. All that aside, I enjoyed reading the book and read through to the end.

This seems to be little more than another book on a female who suddenly develops super powers, has sex over and over and over again, then sets out to save the world. The female lead is whiny, promiscuous, and rather dim witted. It seemed to me that the author was trying to pattern authors Shannon Meyer, Patricia Briggs and Keri Arthur and failed.

Couldn't figure out if this was a sexual fantasy book or a paranormal book. Got really ridiculous real quick. Plus it didn't end - you have to read the next one (I guess) to figure out what happens.
