Danielle also somehow comes with a trouble magnet. She keeps ending up in trouble, being framed for murder or thief, or whatever. So with Danielle's gift of sight, she's able to talk to ghosts and help the cops or at least the victims find peace by solving their murder. It's tough though when the cops think she's really guilty and tries to pin it on her. But there's also a good side to all of this trouble, she meets new friends that makes her happy.
I so love Danielle. I can't wait to see her to get a real love interest someday. She deserves it after all of that trouble! I've read all of the books available in this series and all of them are pretty good. Can't wait for the newest one to come out soon.
When her cousin runs off with a million dollar necklace Danielle has been wearing at the open house and then is murdered, the main suspect is of course Danielle. With the help of the ghost of Marlow house and a few other people, the crime is solved and you won’t believe who the killer is and how it all played out.
I love this series and this book made me realize that family is not always nice nor is it always blood.
All is right with the world until Danielle only living relative Cheryl shows up and claims she is entitled to half of the estate. Walt Marlow the live in spirit (he doesn’t like the word Ghost) still roams the house and is very cautious of Cheryl. Especially when she becomes friends with Adam, the Grandson of Marie, who we learned in Book 1 tried to break into the house and steal the necklace.
Author Holmes does a great job of making you dislike Cheryl and honestly when she is murdered you’re not really unhappy until Detectives Joe and Brian think Danielle murdered her. Great story and makes you want to read more. Oh did I mention there is 16 books in this series.
I felt the characters grew and developed quite a bit. Annoying BFF Lily from the first book was much more enjoyable in this book. She came to life and finally I could see why she's such a great friend to have around. Ian redeemed himself quite a bit.
Walt was the one who was a bit of a bother this time. But he's a ghost and who doesn't love a cool ghost?
The annoying cousin Cheryl whom we are all supposed to love to hate either will work for you or not. Some people will find her insufferable and intolerable. I found her very entertaining and found myself greatly alarmed that I understood her really bizarre take on everything. No, I would never want to be her cousin, but I've seen worse cousins in my life. She's at least fun to turn loose on a story. I think the author had some fun writing her.
I really like this series and I can't wait to read the next book.
There's no sudden "Oh, it was instant lust and fireworks the first time I saw him/her!" which always makes me gag, because so many authors use that to avoid having to work on real character development. Trust me, I write a lot of fanfic and that is soooo much the lazy way out! I like the heroine Danielle a lot and it'll be interesting following her story as she encounters more mysteries. I'm hoping that Amazon will soon have the whole series of bks 1-10 available soon? I'm definitely going to snap it up as soon as it's released on Kindle.
