I thoroughly enjoy reading paranormal mysteries, and Heather Graham is very good at this. She makes it so you're never really certain who did it until the conclusion. I like books that keep you guessing, and she never fails me. I also like her characters. I love the way she incorporates the flavor of the City of New Orleans and the ghost stories, especially when walking through the cities of the dead bringing the spectral residents to life.

The only reason I did not give her 5 stars is because I am not a fan of sex scenes, but I do quickly scan over them to continue with the story. Don't get me wrong, I like the romance in her books, but I am not into sex scenes (my personal preference.)

I recommend this book to any adult who finds paranormal mysteries a fun read, but do not recommend it to a younger crowd.

Heather Graham is not only an entertaining writer, but she craftily creates "places" as complimentary pseudo characters in the colorful locations where her fascinating paranormal novels take place. In "Ghost Walk", the place that becomes a character is modern New Orleans, complete with the above ground cemeteries, the French Quarter, contentious political campaigns and, of course, a couple of independent ghosts who interact with special lead characters. Reading "Ghost Walk" brought back the sites and sounds of "touristy" New Orleans, like reliving a weekend visit to The Big Easy by reading a murder mystery. In fact, the plot evolves through the work of a New Orleans walking tour group company whose guides become innocently involved in the murder investigation of an undercover FBI agent. "Ghost Walk" is a delightful story for the reader who enjoys the fantasy of spiritual "who done its" with a fresh love story or two blended into the action. In "Ghost Walk", the mystery is enhanced by the mystical culture embedded in New Orleans folklore, ending in a Bayou stand off. I especially enjoy how Graham includes unexpected humor from both human and spiritual characters. "Ghost Walk" is a combination of spiritual plus human characters creating another enjoyable Graham read.

I love mysteries with a paranormal catch. This was great! Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints. The book made me want to run out and find a mystery tour to take. The history information on the guided tours in the book was also fun to learn. If you want a fast read and fun but chilling book, this is it.

Ghost Walk by Heather Graham
I thought the cover on this book looked intriguing and the story sounded really good. I love historical paranormal and have always been fascinated by New Orleans and the culture that comes along with it. I had high hopes for this book, but after finishing it, I feel somewhat letdown.
The characters in this book never really garnered my attention. Even the main character felt one dimensional and flat. I found that after getting halfway through the book or so that I had to force myself to pay attention.
Some of the descriptions of the city and the cemeteries were pretty good, but it didn't make the overall book any better. The love story element was rather predictable and at times, just plain stupid. Two characters who knew squat about one another and had said maybe five minutes of words to each other are suddenly star crossed lovers. Been there, done that.
I thought this book could have been much better than it was if the author had worked more on her character development and given us characters we could actually care about. Instead, I found myself hoping the book would end already, which is sad considering some of the other, lesser known authors I have read lately that spun an amazing and worthwhile tale of the paranormal. I don't think I can recommend this one.

I love stories based in New Orleans. This is a spectacular story! Yep, that's right, spectacular. I loved it. There's this tour group that has the best guides. Makes you wish you could find them on your next trip to New Orleans. The leader (Nikki) has the ability to see ghosts. The group meets for coffee one morning and Nikki ends up giving a 'bum' $20 and the adventure begins. Tragedy strikes one of the tour guides one night and Nikki is the only one who believes she did not overdose. Her co-workers and the police think she's just in denial. Eventually enters this special agent and Nikki's life changes. There are twists and turns that grab you and hold your attention so that you don't want to put the book down...even to go to sleep. This is the best story. You will love it. Happy reading.

Everytime this author gets better & better. I got so involved with her stories, that I don't want to stop reading, even loosing sleep, so I can continue reading. I feel sometimes that I'm part of the plot. That, for me is a goog, no an excellent writer. Highly recommended, all her books.

Loved the idea of Ghost Tours as you learn a little about old New Orleans along with this story. Will Nikki solve the two murders? Who did it?? Will she find love as Heather Graham usually includes in her novels? Atmosphere is great throughout the novel holding your attention to a dramatic end. Not easy to figure out the culprit on this one which makes it even more enjoyable.
