About the Author
Merle Temple is the author of the Michael Parker Trilogy...A Ghostly Shade of Pale, A Rented World, and The Redeemed. All were written as fiction but drawn from his life as an agent in the first drug wars, a corporate manager, and an operative in high-level politics, where the world turned on him when he confronted the unholy trinity of politics, crime, and business. God broke him and showed him who and what never mattered and Who and What always will. Criminal Minds producer-writer Jim Clemente endorsed his books and invited him to Hollywood to sign books for the cast and meet with producers. Merle travels the country with his wife, Judy, speaking to schools, churches, prisons, and civic clubs, and has discussed his novels with people as diverse as Morgan Freeman and Christian apologist, Ravi Zacharias. Merle recently gave his testimony to Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. One college made his first book required reading for all English students, and many high schools and middle schools are using his trilogy in English classes. His descriptive novels, which are his ministry, are written as literature and contain no profanity or graphic intimacy. The trilogy bring readers right to the front doorsteps of the essential question in a fallen world: "Who is Jesus Christ, and what are we going to do about him? --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Mr. Temple has woven together the elements of a powerful Mystery-Suspense that left this reader's heart pounding: would the MBN's rookie agents survive an ambush shootout that was supposed to be a business-as-usual undercover deal?
Would Michael's best friend and mentor through the years survive the insidious attack of cancer, as Michael watches him grow more gaunt and haggard as the disease takes its toll?
There is also the figure that stalks him, one emerged from the black pit of night terrors. Although stark white with the flame-red eyes of a demon, he moves like a dark shadow, while leaving behind a trail of death and horror. And he manages to keep a step ahead of Michael.
Then comes that one unguarded moment. Michael, weary from the demands of life and his job, walks into an ambush where he comes face-to-face with the pale shadow-man whose icy heart and super-human strength are fueled by drugs and the demonic. It is a fight-to-the-death. All of Michael's training seems to fail him, and he can only call on his God. Will He hear him? Or is his Master, so soon, calling him home?
---KB Schaller, Author, Gray Rainbow Journey
