This Dark Horse volume collects over 650 pages black-and-white Little Lulu comics originally published by Dell Comics between 1945 and 1948. "Little Lulu" was a one-panel cartoon in the Saturday Evening Post from 1935 to 1944 from creator Marjorie Henderson Buell. The character was then adapted by writer/artist John Stanley and artist Irving Tripp for Dell's "Four Color Comics" and eventually an eponymous title. The stories are presented chronologically and center on Lulu Moppet and her neighbor Tubby Tompkins, who is alternately her best friend and chief rival. The charming, often hilarious content is appropriate for all ages. The cast of intelligent and inventive children seems like a direct predecessor of Charles Schultz's classic "Peanuts" comic strip and would probably appeal to fans of that series.

I enjoyed going through this comic book because it reminded me of good things we used to have for entertainment. So simple, so entertaining. I used to exchange this comics with my friends at school and it was so much fun! Nowadays, it is sad to see the comics full of double content, full of faces that reminds us of angry kids and mean and violent. Everything is about fighting. I just gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the book is really Giant, but a little too narrow, so it is hard to keep it open. That is not very important if you are ready to enjoy the content rather than the "logistic" around it. Enjoy!

This book is stacked with the most beautifully drawn and printed clear black and white art, now the fun part.

I laughed so much as I began reading. This was a present for my Fiance as she is a big lover of Nancy, Archie, etc. So when I finally handed it over, I realised it would be a long wait to get it back from her.

We can't wait for the next huge omnibus version!

I have followed Little Lulu since I was a child. As I found the item in Amazon, I ordered it. The stories are wonderful but the book is too thick. It is impossible reading it on bed or even seated. I would like it better if the books were "thinner."

I grew up reading Little Lulu and I wanted to get this collection but when I saw it was in black and white I balked. All the old Lulu comics I own are in full color, why the bleach job on this collection? I know it may cost a little more to print in full color but I would gladly pay a little more to have it that way. I will give it 5 stars for content and 2 stars for black and white so I guess it averages out at 3 stars.
