I first wanted to read this book because my grandson loves ladybugs and doesn't harm them-he knows their good uses.
Very colorful illustrated children's book about 2 horses that have a colt. They are blessed with a boy.
They were so in love with the new one that they didn't realize he was a ladybug and not a colt at all.
The part I like the best is when they ask advice from the doctor on how to care for the ladybug so they can continue to care for him.
They realize the ladybug, Polkadot, won't life as long as they so they made everyday count with the things they did together to show their love.
Love the story of how this book came to be, for TJ.
After reading it, I have tears running down my cheeks. The story has a very personal meaning for author Carole Amber. I won't give it away here, but I highly recommend this book for all ages. It's a true testament of love and loss, and the joy in between.
Five well earned stars (and a tissue).
We are grateful each day that he is still with us, even if we know his time on earth will be short!
This book has a great message and should be a must read in classroom around America to teach about differences and how to embrace one differences.
Parents and family of special needs child needs this book on their bookshelves for sure!
I highly recommend it!
