I became familiar with this book at a local store. After physically examining and reviewing it, I decided I would check it out online for price comparison. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it on Amazon for half the price! This is a very cool compendium of gig posters from all over the world. I am tempted to buy the other volume (I have volume 2). The poster micro-perforations allow removal of your favorites to frame/hang on the wall. Very Satisfied. As usual, the Amazon buying experience was smooth.

This is a great book. I purchased it about a week ago and I've hardly plumbed the depths as it were yet; but I have already started framing some of the prints! It makes you want to buy two - one to take apart and one to keep mint. I like that it is in the 11 x 14" size which is fairly easy to find frames for.

The only downside is it is only the 101 large size prints that take up a whole page; the rest are small since they wanted to pack a lot of content into the book - around 6 examples from each artist plus a full size print for each. So the large size prints may be hit or miss depending on your preference - a lot of my favorites were in small form and not full size, but it is no big deal since there is still plenty of eye candy here.

Now I regret not jumping on the first volume; it went out of stock quickly before I could, as this one was just coming out. Now I'm hooked and I'll have to track it down from another seller. Other books in a similar vein I would like to get as well are 'The Art Of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion' by Paul Grushkin, and 'Art of Rock' (the FULL size version which is pricey - don't buy the tiny one!) which is also by Paul Grushkin.

I own a handful of original gig posters from the 60's which were not cheap, and to be sure they will remain a collector's item in the years to come, but buying one or two of these books gives many, many more prints to hang and just to admire for the same price or less than a single original poster. I think it is worth it if you are a huge music and modern art fan. I now have no lack of material to inspire me and decorate my walls with. Now to buy more frames!

Ma questo dipene da gusti personali musicali che artistici. Sfogliando su internet troviamo molte altre immagini. Not having that privilege... I bought the book for myself and I haven't looked back since! My friend framed them in £7 black wooden frames from Wilkinsons... I got mine from Ikea, a pack of 3 for £3.99, you can't go wrong at that price! There are 2 volumes of this book... both are amazing, it's hard to pick which one to buy!)
