AORUS All-Around Cooling Solution

AORUS provides the all-around cooling solution for all key components of the graphics card. We take care not only GPU but also VRAM and MOSFET, to ensure a stable overclock operation and longer life. On the front side, the GPU direct touch heat-pipes combines a metal base plate to dissipate the most heat from the GPU and VRAM. On the back side, the copper back plate dissipates the heat from the GPU back side. All other key components are taken care of very well by the WINDFORCE cooling module. AORUS ensures the customer a better cooling solution in many ways.

Thermal Heat Pipes Direct Touch

The pure copper heat pipes are shaped to maximize the direct contact area to the GPU for enhanced thermal transfer. The heat pipes also touch a large metal base plate covering the VRAM module via thermal pads to ensure the critical cores are properly cooled.

Advanced Copper Back Plate Cooling

Excessive heat from GPU not only gets dissipated utilizing the massive cooling module in the front but also through the back side with a copper plate, providing a well-rounded thermal solution for the GPU.

Unique Blade Fan

The airflow is spilt by the triangle fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the airflow by 23% over the traditional fans.

Composite Heat Pipes

The composite heat-pipes combines both thermal conductivity and phase transition for efficiently managing the transfer of heat between two solid interfaces which increases 29% of cooling capacity.

This AORUS RX580 is quite compact and heavy. I was surprised when it ended up being the same size (while twice the weight) as my old Radeon HD 7800, which was a mid level card several years ago. This AORUS comes overclocked pretty well so I didnt need to do anything but load drivers and it kicks butt, and its even cooler and quieter than my old card. The old card only used a 6-pin, and I was delighted the RX580 uses only one 8-pin power connector. I have a small micro-ATX case. It can fit a little bigger and wider card, but I don't like taking up all the space and blocking airflow. Other RX580 cards are much larger. I recommend this card for small case gamers. For regular cases I am sure any of the RX580 lineup will do, but I have had good luck with two mid-level Gigabyte cards lasting and never failing, while a few other brands have failed over the years on me. The only reason I rate it a 4, and not a 5, is that it is a far cry from the next level of AMD Vega 56, in terms of both technology and performance. This is 2+ year old tech being used as the highest mid-level performance, rather than new tech flowing down to the mid-level for better efficiency. To get the high performance card you pay almost twice as much though, and the cards get even bigger, and require more power connectors and supplies, so there is a tradeoff. I just wish AMD had flowed its new tech down.

This card performs as I'd hoped, almost all my games running smooth on High-Ultra (with some tweaks) at 2k res, and Ultra everything at 1080p.

My problem is that I may have derped with the OC settings, and now I get an annoying LED flashing for "abnormal power supply" entering the GPU, which is lame because it performs fine and no issues have been detected, just the LED going on and off intermittently in b/w a 5-20 minute window (and sometimes blinking up to 4 times).

Hopefully, this card lasts, but if you do go for this, I highly recommend getting the 3 year protection plan as well, should something happen to it.

The Software Aorus Engine is VERY buggy, and the installation of the drivers was actually more of a hassle than I am having with the card's LED bug. But, overall I am happy with the purchase and got it on a good sale price. A valuable upgrade for sure.

EDIT: turns out that LED was a faulty PSU (which shocked me). Now the GPU is clean! The only issue remains is the buggy incompatibility of the AORUS Engine with PC as a whole. It's good to run it, and change the LEDs once and then immediately uninstall the software from your PC completely, because the GPU will have the LED color stored in memory on the card. I recommend OCing it using Afterburner from MSI if you're into OCing cards.

This card was my idea of a GTX 1060 competitor; however, it didn't live up too much to that idea. My 1060 is a higher end 1060, so it isn't comparable, but with this graphics card, I was able to run CS:GO on 1920x1080 at an average 210fps with medium settings. This was without the most up-to-date drivers installed. With new drivers, I gained around 10fps more, which still isn't comparable to my 1060, but it is way cheaper than the 1060. The dual fans supposedly keep the card cool, but it gets really hot at times, especially if gaming at 1920x1080 for 6 hours. The RGB is only on the logo, however I did have a problem with the logo, which had some printing errors of some sort around the name, leaving holes where the RGB light passed through and shines through. I thought it looked cool, so I'm deciding to keep that. Im unsure if it was meant to be like that or not. It for some reason still gives discs, which I managed to use after using a disk reader from a 2007 Dell Inspiron 580 when I had(and still have) no internet.
Pros:
Great price per performance
Runs games fantastically at 1920x1080
Fans aren't loud

For the price, it's pretty decent. I have little problems with it. Though if you don't care for the RGB, I would recommend not using the AORUS software. It's bloated and just another thing running in the background. If you want to overclock the card use MSI Afterburner.

One of the only problems I came across with this card was that the temperatures were getting way too hot. After an hour of gaming the temperatures were reaching ~65°C at 1380 MHz. I ended up getting an Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV, which when fans are at nearly 100% it's quiet and keeps temperatures ~20°C idle, & ~45°C under load.

The other problem I encountered was getting Hynix memory which isn't as good as Samsung or Micron. But that also has to do with the silicon lottery, so your mileage may very.

If you have a FreeSync/ adaptive sync monitor this card is real good for that too.

It's a AMD card, so there are some pretty handy tweaks you can do to get the best bang for your buck. Like, RadeonMod and other registry changes if you're on Windows. But once again, your mileage may very.

As I headlined it is a great product allowing me to max out all my games textures etc. The 8 GB of Graphics RAM helps a lot in providing the performance. I am currently not using the AORUS feature as my panels are solid metal but my next case is likely to have at least one clear panel and the Z370 M/board which has LED lighting built in and the RX 580 will blend nicely for colour effect.

No problems have been experienced yet and the newest AMD drivers seem to be providing the outcomes I like.

Compre la tarjeta despues del boom de los mineros, no me salio tan cara pero ya no al precio que estaban antes de que los mineros agotaran y encarecieran las tarjetas asi que en cuestion de precio tal vez no estuvo barata pero fue una muy buena opcion en comparacion de otras tarjetas de la misma gama, en cuanto al rendimiento es un pequeño monstruo, le dio vida a mi pc, a pesar de que tengo un procesador AMD ya algo veterano (que tmb se sustituira en un tiempo) corre todos los juegos que le eh puesto en 1080p en Ultra sin ningun problema y la tarjeta apenas suda, se mantiene a su 100% de capacidad maximo a 70°, el desempeño es brutal y no consume demasiada energia como las VEGA, la tengo con una fuente EVGA de 500w y con eso tiene.
El diseño es hermoso estaba entre una 1060 de 6gb y esta, pero a futuro las AMD envejecen mejor que las nvidia por su alta cantidad de vram, buenos drivers y mayor ancho de banda, facilmente podras jugar en 144hz en 1080p e incluso en algunos juegos con el hardware correcto le tiras al 2k a 60hz, es de lo mejor que ha sacado AMD y apenas tiene poco mas de un año de su lanzamiento al mercado.
Mi conclusion es que si buscas una tarjeta con un buen rendimiento, con un buen diseño, duradera pero que tampoco quieres invertirle mas de $7000, esta es una muy buena opción, la recomiendo mucho, si eres fanboy de nvidia pasa de largo y ve por la 1060 de 6gb, pero si buscas una opcion de AMD que compita con la 1060, esta es la tarjeta que buscas. Si tengo algun problema con ella se los hare saber de inmediato. Gracias.

However, this thing absolutely spits heat like a broken fire hydrant. But like. A fire hydrant that shoots fire, not water. That kind of fire hydrant. Also, at high load, it gets considerably loud. More than I'd like it to.
