I have had this board a week or so and it has a lot of perks, the usb is 2.0 An 3.0, there is 6 sata plugs you can run the board in a raid ,for hard drive backup and mirroring, which is great,it has enough older style pci ,available, and the newer size pci, there are 2 three pin plugs for fans and there are 2 ,4 pin plugs for system fans, the bios is excellent, has easy to understand choices , u can overclock , unlocked Cpu,the whole bios is very changeable ,form wake settings to pretty much anything you might want to do, I had a mini atx that was less user friendly and there was only 20 dollars between the two, so i sent it back and got this board the other atx had terrible instructions and ,i never could get the board to work, with my 8350, so for the money its great and stable, it has almost as many features as the 150 dollar board i almost bought

Somehow, in moving my system (GB mATX870 etc. / AMD Ph II-X3) to a new case, I blew out the motherboard--with no more computers in the house. With money extremely tight, after online research on a friend's computer I ordered a AMD Ph II X4 965 and this motherboard. The pair arrived Friday, a day earlier than projected. Installation of the new CPU and the motherboard was uneventful, and the system booted up.

Installing the updated drivers was almost uneventful; the Realtek HD sound driver remained problematic, but the system runs fine.

I ran Performance Test this afternoon and determined I had a nominal 40% improvement in performance. I'm satisfied.

I had this board from January '14 to a few days ago, and its just awful. There's a bug on it (associated with AMD apparently) that will not allow you to correctly boot to any Linux 64bit distro live disk. I replaced it with an ASUS and the first thing I did upon installing the ASUS board was to use the exact same boot disks to boot to Linux Mint, Xubuntu, and Open SUSE. They all worked fine. This board's bios (what is believed to be causing the boot problem) has not been updated for over a year. It's not worth the hassle if you want to use Linux.

I purchased this board because it supports DDR3 and the AMD FX series processors, price is decent for what it offers. Compare it to a higher cost board and see for yourself. The AMD FX 4100 I put in it was only showing it as a dual core processor until I updated the BIOS to a newer version. Then the quad core (dual cores with two processing units and shared caches)appeared in task manager and the computer's performance improved a lot. I did like having the onboard video option with my slightly older motherboard as this board has no video output. I already had some decent video cards so I used the NVIDIA 9800GT with it and its PDA. (Pretty Damn Awesome) Another note is I haven't had to reinstall Windows 7 x64. Now it was quite buggy when I first turned it on but it didn't take to long to setup the drivers for the new hardware and update things.

Also the DDR3 RAM defaults to 1333mhz instead of 1600mhz as the ram stated it can run. Manually setting the frequency multiplier and adjusting the timings from the SPD tables in CPU-Z fixes this. However, the performance seems the same as the DDR2 I upgraded from. I'm just glad to have the ram working properly again, and now its been upgraded with what should last for at 5 years, perhaps longer.

If I learned anything from my two home PC builds it is, be careful when overclocking your processor. I think my old boards memory problems were caused by overclocking the Phenom II X2 550B.E. but more so by using the manual setting for the ram speed with two sets of "not quite the same" ram. By this I mean they had different timings. Each set used to run at 800mhz but only when one set was in it, in dual channel. However when all four strips were installed the memory speed would only run at 667mhz not 800mhz like it was supposed to.

This board has no problems. I loaded it up with a AMD 8250FX 8 core processor and 32 Gigs ddr3 ram. Working great. Loaded all drivers it needed off the windows 8 disc without loading extra drivers at installation. It is a full size board, so make sure your case can handle it. No bios update needed to make it work with the processor. Just worked out of the box. Definitively the cheapest best board for the money and features!

Just about the best and toughest motherboard on the market today. Gigabyte offers features other makers just don't include in their design, like Dual Bios. If one gets corrupted, the other one takes over and even reprograms the corrupted one. Lots of USB ports and headers and quality electronics used throughout. I've used them for years and have had current spikes zap components in the computer but the Gigabyte Motherboard kept going. That's tough. Link that with great online support and their "EasyBios" flash program? I'm a believer.

A solid motherboard most of the time. I have received two sudden reboots for no apparent reason with this motherboard, but I still haven't figured why, this only has happened with Windows, on Linux it runs beautifully. I'm using this component for a bit more than mainstream gaming platform that I built for my brother.
