About the missing user manual

Someone complained about a missing user manual. The back of the box that the keyboard comes in has a picture of the keyboard which has a brief label of the special keys that are part of the keyboard. If you are mildly computer literate, that's all the manual you will need to use these special keys effectively. On the left side: Home, My favorites, Refresh, Forward and Back, all functions for navigating websites and accessing commonly used functions you could do with the mouse and clicking on menus in your browser. It has a nice volume dial. It has multimedia keys at the top of the keyboard like you would find on a media player like VLC to control it. The right side of the keyboard has a Mute, Media Player (starts up your default media player) My Computer which works for folder and file navigation, Mail, and Calculator programs. It has a Windows key and a property key which displays information relevant to where you invoke it on your screen. If you want to change the application opened by a special key, change the default program associated with that program in Windows/Control Panel. This last statement is best included in a user guide, since it's a bit hard to guess how to do it like you can guess how to use the special keys with a little experience. I think this keyboard uses a generic windows driver and the special keys are APIs. For instance I have a keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Alt +m, which I can type to open my email program, or I could use the dedicated key on the new keyboard to perform this function of opening the email program, so that function is not a driver. In Device Manager, Windows shows the driver for for the _keyboard_ first installed when I plugged in the new keyboard. I'd try changing the computer USB port which the keyboard plugged into if the special keys didn't work, assuming one can type into a textbox (it works that much).

I got this keyboard because everyone said it was a good one. the space bar is not level, which for anyone that's used to that, you have to really push it to get the space to work. It's got alot of nice media keys but not all of them are going to work. you only get the basic media keys as there is no driver that is specific to this keyboard, I have even gone to the companies site and searched for a driver there and there is none. it's just an HID keyboard device driver which gives you all the same keys as the cheaper basic Microsoft media keyboard. I can live without the fancy media keys but I am a little miffed that they put it out without a driver to make those keys work and hope that they fix this problem in the near future and I may change my review if they do. Other than that, it works like a basic keyboard, it is longer and the media keys that do work are not easy to press so you don't have to worry about something just bumping the keyboard and messing something up.

I originally was going to buy the Amazon USB keyboard + mouse set, but I realized that I really enjoy my current keyboard's extra buttons: calculator, play, stop, next track, volume up, volume down, etc. I use the calculator and play music while working all the time. Those extra buttons just give the keyboard a lot more utility. So I decided to buy this multimedia keyboard. I think it's quite nice. Did a lot of searching to find it. I like the many, many, additional keys. I also like the caps, num, and scroll lock lights. And the volume is a wheel! My main complaint is that the delete button is just a regular sized key! I don't like that it... almost all keyboards have it as 2x wide. But I guess I can get used to it.

CHEAP, LOUD, LONG TRAVEL KEYS

Feels so cheap.
I am angry at everyone who left the good reviews. I paid only $13 on black friday and still returned it. No, it is not worth the $13. I had another keyboard with much better feeling keys for only $15. Too bad the arrow key stopped working and can't skip forward on youtube any more.

This keyboard is CHEAP. Make no mistake. When you just SHAKE IT, all buttons begin to shake and rattle . The keys travel very long and unpleasant and noisy. If you are used to that nice travel of laptop keys - this is the furthers away. The sound control circle on top is useless. It is so slippery and so tight, you will never be able to use it without frustration.

Otherwise lots of functions for this kind of money. Everything seemed to work. If you don't care about quality - go ahead. I thought today they don't make those kind of keys any more. This design reminds me of my first computer 16 years ago.
