I bought this board about a month ago, along with 4GB Corsair XMS3 and the AMD A6-5400K processor .. running windows 7 pro 64bit. The build up went without any problems, the trouble started right after I allowed the drivers for the mainboard to express install. I was not able to get out on the internet, and would restart by itself a few minutes after boot up. Also after the restart, came back up in SAFE mode. I tried the normal uninstall / re install routine with no luck, and finally called gigs customer service. They recommended NOT to do the express install on the mobo drivers. They said windows would automatically detect and load, I should only load the LAN and the USB 3 drivers.
So I started over loading a fresh copy of windows 7 and then the two drivers customer service recommend .. Presto.. it worked perfectly, connected to the internet just fine. I mention this just to save others the same trouble. There were no problems with the hardware, this board works great. The processor temp rarely gets above 36C where my older processor typically ran close to 70C. Except for the driver issue I have had no other issues crop up and would recommend this board to all. This board is very well built, the solder connections are some of the best I've seen, and their customer service was there when I needed them.

I'm an IT guy. I got his for my home PC. After using it for a while I was responsible for my employer buying many of them.
Combine this with a an AMD A10 5800K and I don't think you can find better bang for your buck.

Running an A10-5800K APU as an HTPC rig/media center and my only complaint is the NIC. I typically try to avoid Realtek NICs like the plague due to their poor performance compared every other manufacturer's NICs I have experience with.

However this is nice low-cost board (hence the cheap Realtek NIC) well-suited for a computer for you parents/grandparents, and also a low energy HTPC solution. The slot layout is good, leaving you a lot of real-estate for add-on cards without much obstruction. USB3 header, plenty of USB2 headers, and overall a clean and easy to navigate layout.

One of the reasons that I chose this board is for the Dual Bios. I overclock and like the security of a back up BIOS. The first time that I flashed a BIOS update it failed and the backup BIOS didn't initiate. Tech Support gave me nothing but the basic steps that I had already tried (clear the CMOS, remove memory and peripherals, etc) so I was on my own or RMA.
I'm writing this because I found a solution which may be of use to someone who has the same experience. OPen the case. Turn off the power at the PSU. Press & hold the power switch on the MB while you turn on power to the PSU. When it beeps release the button on the MB.
I had to do this 2 or 3 times before it beeped but then it proceeded to use the backup to restore the main BIOS just like it's supposed to, and I'm back in business.

I have relied on Gigabyte for several years when building a new system. This time I built a 72 TB RAID storage system and the FM2 A85X ATX Mother board was an ideal choice. The RAID system is up and running and I am very confident using Gigabyte products!

I bought this board for a new litecoin mining rig (heavy GPU utilization, on 24/7 computer). On arrival the NIC was not working, confirmed this with Gigabyte support online. I did an RMA through gigabyte and they sent me a brand new board. I was pleasently suprised as I usually have to go through the vendor for computer part RMAs. So +1 to gigabyte for the easy RMA process, unfortunately I cant get more than 4 stars since it had a faulty part at the start.

Met all my needs and works great with Win 8 installed. The only problem I have is the board didn't come with a utlity disk for Windows 8, the disk provided was for Windows 7. Had to download all the drivers from Gigabyte and I have not been able to get my USB 3.0 working yet.
