Phase Two, compromise: After an unusually excitable time for Apple's updates, I got fed up with card swapping. I bought an Nvidia 780 that had been flashed for Mac. This card was not nearly as fast with the apps I used than the 970; faster than the ATI, to be sure, but disappointing for the cost. For example it could process a CR2 in 30 seconds. But at least it would work with Apple's antiquated default video drivers. Or so I was told. It did no; requiring card swapping on every minor update. By this time I wanted nothing to do with Nvidia's horrible website, closed-source customer-unfriendly attitude, and idiotic driver engineering decisions.
Phase Three, enter AMD: Rumors spread that MacOS Sierra would natively support AMD RX4x0 cards. That rumor was later refined to supporting only RX460 cards without a bit of plist-level system manipulation; something I didn't want to have to do if I didn't absolutely need to. While this manipulation was not difficult, I didn't want to introduce this variable and was concerned about having to redo it on each bootable volume and on each system update. the 460 was rumored to be at least as fast as the 970. I'm happy to say that the card has not needed to be swapped through several system and security upgrades. I'm a little disappointed to report that it's only about as fast as the 780; taking 30 seconds to process a CR2 in DxO. The 'About This Mac" reports the card as "AMD RX xxx 2048 MB" but, as far as I can tell, the card if fully accelerated.
This is, for the moment, the best it gets for Mac Pro 5,1 users who just need to get stuff done and don't want productivity interrupted by needing to fiddle with their hardware and tweak system software at random, and always badly timed, points.
So, even though performs well at the indicated levels, well enough to give more than 30FPS, I think the cards fails when it comes to working efficiently at hot locations. Anyways, the card is a solid 4.
For the budget gamer, this card can handle its own, and it is light years ahead of the last generation R7 260X, which was the exact same price at time of purchase, both from Amazon.
I highly recommend this card for the light to moderate gamer and yes, it runs Second Life at Ultra settings like a champ achieving 45FPS in most regions that are in good health.
What I wanted to write though is to tell you to order this in an Amazon box, Just at checkout select the ship in an amazon box under the gift options, it's free, and it might save you some time of returning the card if it gets broken in the mail. I didn't select that, and I got mine in the mail today. It works great, but they just slapped a postage sticker on the box and mailed it as is, didnt tape it shut or anything. Just being the folding box it is, it could come open in shipping and risk your card falling out and being damaged. And hey, it's free to have them to throw it in a sealed amazon box so you lose nothing right?
Hope it helps and happy gaming!

Sure, its slower than an 1050 2GB, but its also Cheaper.
Better than any GT730, GTX750ti or 1030.
In my Thermaltake Core V21 Case, it stays very cool. Idle 20 to 25 Celsius. Under heavy use its below 45.
So a very cool Card.
The only issue with this Card, is the Fan. Its very Loud and annoying under Full Load.
If you need a new Card, and want a good Performance, grab this one, a RX 560 or a 1050.. Best Frames for the Money.
Age of Empires II
Neverwinter Online
Path of Exile
RollerCoaster Tycoon
Anno 1701
Anno 1503
Die Siedler 4
Neverwinter Nights
Railroad Tycoon II
