USB Issues could be a problem.

The Mobo will screw with any (even ps/2) keyboard upon loading ANY OS. Normally the Num Lock is the only light that should be on for notification that the computer is doing what it's supposed to. In the case of this Mobo the scroll lock light likes to come on as well and if you try to turn it off before the OS loads the light strobes and the keyboard becomes unresponsive until said OS loaded. Mice are still working fine the whole time. Linux, Windows, And a number of other OSes were tested. It seems more like a bios issue to me. So i tried to update the bios. NONE of the usb keys (i have 22 of various manufactures and storage capacity) will load. "No Disk Found" is what i get any time i try to use to the g-flash utility built into the Mobo. This could just be a very uncommon issue that i was unlucky enough to have to deal with. I will contact Manufacturer of the board to see about recommendations and fixes for the issues. Will Update Review if possible after i get a response from the company. BTW the Biostar board which has the same exact hardware attached to it runs flawlessly. Gigabyte just lost a large number of points in Quality Control when it comes to what i chose to put in my computers for the future. Not saying it doesn't run. BUT there should not be an issue like this coming from a company who makes as much money off computer components as they do. Quality control should not be a hit or miss issue. That is why it is called CONTROL.

- My motherboard was shipped dead on arrival. Obviously that should warrant one star and a review that trash talks the board and the seller, however, I have contacted the seller and hopefully I will be compensated

- For some reason I am unable to return it in the normal amazon way because "It contains hazardous material". I have had good luck with gigabyte. My oldest system has been running for 7 years and still going strong with Gigabyte at its heart. Hopefully I will receive a same-model replacement.

This is a great motherboard for a mediocre PC build.mine works pretty well, especially for a first build. But one Thing they could have done better, is add a USB 3 connector for the tower case. But it is a great product, nonetheless.

Working great had it for several month now just one thing though it wont let me alter any clock setting with the AM1 5350 and i think the GPU is a bit slow 600Mhz is a bit slow for the 8400. No problem with Kubuntu 14.04 either this machine has not seen the likes of windows as of yet and might not. HTPC with HDHOMERUN and all the deps needed to run Netflix and also Amazon movies as well as HULU Youtube ect who the H--L needs windooos. Steam+Linux games are working as well

I wish I knew this board only supported 2 SATA drives. This is a major bummer, I had to leave my DVD drive unplugged because of this. Fortunately, I rarely used the DVD drive, so I kept the board.

Other than that, this is a great board. I'm running with a 25w CPU in a small enclosure and the case stays cool to the touch.

Vielen Usern ist der Umstieg auf einen neuen PC und damit auf ein neues BIOS noch ein Wagnis. Auch ich hatte das Problem. Als ich es mal genauer ins Auge nahm, fand ich dem Mut, es zu tun. Dieses günstige Mainboard (von billig möchte ich nicht reden, denn dies hat das Image von minderer Qualität und das ist es in keinster Weise!). W8.1-64 war schnell bestellt und die restliche oder vorhandenen Hardware moniert. Zwei HDD eingebaut und mit W8.1 und wxp eingerichtet. Dies war ein richtiger Schritt, der sich gelohnt hat. Alles läuft schnell und zuverlässig. Die Motivation erhielt ich durch das MB (und den Preis), das für die nächste Zeit die Arbeit verrichten wird.
Der Erwerb dieses Mainboards ist nur zu empfehlen.

I paid £21 for this board ,its has a new UEFI very simple to use . I dropped a Atlon 5350 into it and a GT 730 into the available PCI-E slot .Its the perfect HTPC it uses little to no power. Full load it uses 55-60 watts :-) . Even with such low end hardware i was really surprised at how well it handles games . It plays 90% of games on high settings 720p and also plays some games at 1080p low/medium fine .I have been able to get most games running fine only Watchdogs was unplayable ,it seems to be a very bad optimised game even on my i5 3570k & GTX 670 it runs terrible and has my machine screaming . Alot of people have criticized the AM1 Platform ,i think its great for really cheap media PC's that can even manage some light gaming . Grid Autosport, Dirt 3 , Trine 2, Skyrim , Crysis 3 ,Mortal Kombat, Titanfall 'All tested and work perfect . Im going to install my GTX 670 in it for the fun of it and see how much the CPU actually bottlenecks . This Gigabyte board is really simple and has not giving one bit of trouble my only gripe would be that the Asus AM1 board lets you overclock the Athlon 5350 and Gigabytes board does not .First world problems aye. Really hoping AMD release a tiny 8Core kabini chip for this platform .

The GA-AM1M-S2H is a good little motherboard, it isn't too big or hefty, it's just the right size for some-one building a basic computer, even a gaming computer. It is cheap, affordable and great quality. The BIOS is easy to understand and looks neat, although I'd have to say my only complaint is that I was sometimes a little unsure where to place leads like the power switch lead. The instruction booklet I received was also for a different model of motherboard, depicting an AM3 type socket when this motherboard sports an AM1.

You cant expect to turn this into a beast for gaming, but you'll certainly make a decent set up with this at its core.
