Filmed before a live audience at the Hackney Empire on January 18, 2001. The Carl Rosa Opera presents its sparkling and lavish recreation of the authorized 1885 Savoy production of The Mikado. This recording has an all-star cast with full chorus and orchestra and features the costumes and settings from the Academy Award winning film Topsy-Turvy. The cast includes Gillian Knight, Eric Roberts, Donald Maxwell, Bruce Graham, and many more. Introduced by Valerie Masterson CBE and conducted by Wyn Davies.

One of the finest opera companies around; was able to see this company perform live at theater in town. If and when the company returns to the USA, will make sure to see another performance. XLLNT!
