These are a wonderful product that work amazingly well. I am a big fan of the 360 controller, and specifically its shoulder buttons and triggers. These make the Dualshock 3 controller shoulder buttons a whole lot better. They really do not add that much height to the shoulder buttons, and they allow for my fingers to stay rooted to it. You can also more easily hit r2 and l2 now with just a quick swipe, instead of having to force your entire finger down to smash down the 2 shoulder triggers, probably a lot of peoples complaint with the DS3 controller is the fact that you have to fully commit to hitting the shoulder buttons which can give you a horrible response time in some games, or your finger just slides right off it. With these triggers you no longer have that issue.

I have two problems with these triggers. The first is that when hit right the triggers very easily pop off. If you drop the controller the triggers will literally fly off, and can get lost in little cracks and crevices of rooms. Also setting it down sometimes, if you do it just right, or wrong depending on how you look at it, you will pop one of them off. It's not a big issue but if you are clumsy or have kids you may want to try and glue them on, or get extra triggers.

That leads me to my next point of price. I was very excited when I first saw these on amazon.com, as I love shopping here. The ease and everything made me maybe rush in and buy these. The bottom line is they are 2 expensive, and I didn't realize it till they arrived. I have seen these exact same triggers, they even have a very similar package, at my local Gamestop and Best buy. They were even the same price, the only difference in price is sales tax. The reason this upsets me is that the ones I have seen at bestbuy and gamestop are 2 packs. Which means you get 4 triggers and not 2. When I saw this on amazon I saw the price, and just assumed that these would be the sames ones I could pick up at gamestop or bestbuy, and that is my problem which is why I haven't tried to return them because I did make a mistake. I think that they should put how many triggers you get in the description somewhere so this confusion doesn't happen again. Until they drop their price though I will be buying these locally unfortunately.

Gioteck Real Triggers Rock!

A few weeks ago, I played Borderlands on Xbox 360 over my friend's house and was so impressed that I decided to buy the game as the first FPS game for my PS3 the following week. After playing the game for a few minutes, I noticed that the default control scheme for the game was pretty weird, mainly because of how the L2 & R2 buttons felt for aiming and shooting. Eventually, I changed the controls so that L1 & R1 were used to aim and shoot. I was able to play the game better, but after playing the game on the 360, I felt that the triggers on the 360 controller were better suited to this game.

After a bit of research, I stumbled upon Gioteck's "Real Triggers" for PS3 Dual Shock 3 controllers at Amazon. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I decided to purchase these triggers and test them out for myself. And I am happy to report that these triggers are absolutely phenomenal!

Firstly, these triggers are easy to attach and they snap onto the current L2 & R2 triggers easily and securely. You don't have to worry about them falling off at all and they are just as easy to remove. Secondly, they feel very comfortable, even more so than the standard Dual Shock 3 triggers. The triggers are curved and made of the same plastic as the standard shoulder buttons, making it difficult for your fingers to slip off of them. And finally, these triggers come at a reasonable price for a peripheral that works very well.

So, if you want something "extra" that may have been missing from your FPS games using the standard PS3 controller, this might be a nice solution for you. Otherwise, these triggers are 100x better for basic utilization for any and all game types. Give them a whirl, and you might be surprised!

An Obvious Choice

I absolutely love this item. I have not had experience with other attachments of this kind, so I can't compare myself, but having had this product now for over a year, I can say that I prefer to have any PS3 controller I play on to have these. The triggers on the PS3 as is have only maybe once have given me issue as far as having my index finger slipping off the front, but they were never an issue to begin with. So when I got these triggers, I fell in love simply because it enhanced something that I was already perfectly fine with. Your fingers can easily rest on the triggers and feel comfortable without the worry of actually pressing the button. The triggers snap on (the back of them hooks on the bottom of the PS3's trigger and then you push the top of the attachment toward the controller until it snaps on) and feel secure, all the while not feeling cheap and feeling almost as if they are supposed to be there. It is a nice product and you never have to worry about them falling off in the middle of gameplay as they hold on tight and don't let go.

And personally to me, they just make the controller look better. I use these with FPS Freeks and both of them combined make the controller fell bigger, better, and look cooler than the standard controller, as it is.

Why didn't the Playstation come with these?

Having moved to a Playstation 3 from the 360 I found that there were a few small niggles that I had to get used to, the lame trophy system, the fact that two players can't sign in at the same time and the awful user interface (Even worse than the Xbox's for finding what you want!). Chief among these was the awkward controller.

After doing a fair bit of research it has become obvious that the best controller for the PS3 is the original one. That in mind I knew that there was at least one solvable problem and that was the weak triggers.

Gioteck triggers to the rescue!

These are great, they clip straight onto the existing triggers and suddenly the controller feels more natural, they are easy to apply, affordable and look like they belong.

Now the only reason that I don't give this product a five star review is that I ordered two sets, one set fit perfectly and out of the other set only one fit. The second one just keeps popping off. The reason for this is that the plastic clip on the faulty one is incomplete meaning that it cannot grip properly. A bit of superglue may fix the problem but I have decided to order another set instead.

Bought a pair of these a couple of years ago, they were pretty good and lasted me a while (year?) before numerous droppings of my controller forced them into submission. Ordered another pair a few days ago, and upon opening of the packaging noticed they have changed design. They are now harder to clip on, and feel like better quality plastic that is slightly rubberised. This can only be good news, I'm expecting these to last a pretty long time.

And comon, I mean, £1.20? Why WOULDN'T you buy these? Even if you hate the feel of them or they don't last very long (Only down to how well they are looked after).

I do however have to add that I wouldn't need these if Sony Playstation weren't so stubborn and changed their not-so-ergonomic controller design. Too small for the hands, these beauties make the pad fit in my hands so much easier. I also purchased some concave rubber fittings for the analogue sticks and overall the controller is 100% better.

Can't think of any cons.

They suit the controller.

This is the second pair I have bought, the first got to a point where they wouldn't stay on after about 2 months, now my second pair just cracked and will not stay on and its been 1 month. I went out of my way to treat them extra carefully the second time. However they still cracked at the top. Nevertheless these are great before they break. They look cooler than other products of the same catergory and feel good, however thee breaking is unforgivable. I have now purchased a pair of assecure triggers which feel very sturdy and do the same job. However i cannot say i recommend the having only owned them for about a week. Having said that if I where to review my giotechs after a week, I would to have nothing but positive things to say. But so far so good for the assecure pair.

I had used triggers on my PS3 controller previously and thought they were excellent. After losing them I decided to replace them with Gioteck Real Triggers (PS3) .

I bought two sets of these and within hours of attaching them to controllers, both sets had developed cracks in the plastic. They had not been used excessively or heavily, so I can only assume that this is a design flaw.

After a few days both sets were broken so badly that the triggers now fall off the controller and are therefore completely useless.

Flimsy triggers for PS3

All you are buying is 2 small plastic covers that clip over the existing L2 and R2 buttons trigger controls. They make the buttons stick out more. My sons, (8 and 9), used them and said they arent partcularly comfortable and it was easier without them. I dont know if this is because they have small hands?
They are flimsy and frequently fall off.
Surely the fact that there a market for this sort of thing just indicates a defiency in the design of the standard PS3 controller buttons?
On the positive side, they were cheap, so even though they they werent worthwile for us they didnt break the bank.
