The book does a great job of being explicit without being crass. There aren't any crass words/euphemisms in this erotic anthology, but I also wasn't left wondering "What's going on?". All of the stories are well-written, and I found a good chunk of the stories to be really good. However, I was left wondering sometimes on some of the stories. For example, about three out of 23 stories just stop after the kissing. It's obvious that this was intentional and that the story was supposed to "climax" in the two crushing girls getting together, but it seemed a bit misplaced in this book.
The book really does focus on anticipation and seduction though. All of the stories, while not amazingly heavy on plot, do a great job of focusing on how the one woman has really wanted the other from afar for a long time. One story talks about a hairdresser's love for her client, another talks about two business women who travel together, another talks about a girl living with her best friend and best friend's lover, and another talks about a woman who watches her next door neighbors have sex.
Overall, it's a great collection though. If you enjoy seduction and passion, Girl Crush does a great job presenting it in a sexy manner. Sometimes I just felt like the stories weren't as arousing as they could be or that the story ended a bit too early. However, the majority of the stories were great.
