The Girl from Garfield Park Kindle Edition
The fictional love story follows the life and work of Keelin Ennis-Kherson beginning in the 1930s through the 1980s. The historic tale starts with her early years, courtship, and marriage in the rough-and-tumble, gangster-era Chicago, then follows her to the American Riviera of 1950's Miami, where she becomes a successful, self-taught artist. Weaving together an intriguing progression of experiences, Keelie and those closest to her must adapt to major Twentieth Century events that provide the epic backdrops for this heartwarming, informative and provocative love story. It is the grace with which Keelie, her family, and friends respond to all that life brings them that is both touching and inspirational.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I'm not quite old enough to remember all of the times talked about in this book. I remember the late 50s, 60s and the civil rights movement. The book was a little heavy-handed over the race issue I thought, but it made the point. The last chapter was a tear jerker though. It made me want it to go on longer.
