Jordan Reeves aka Doctor Dreamboat loves the ladies. And the ladies sure love him. He’s pretty well known for his Bachelor status. And he has no intentions of changing that. That is until he sets his sights on Aubrey Larson during a vacation trip. While she reminds him briefly of someone, he quickly learns that that similarities end at the physical appearance. Aubrey is feisty, sexy, and not afraid to speak the truth and call him out when she sees fit. He’s determined to get her to dinner. And he does not stop until she finally says yes!
There’s an intensity between Aubrey and Jordan. Their connection is fire on the pages. Palpable. Profound. Jordan’s love for Aubrey will leave you breathless. His love is manifested in the way he speaks. His actions. His love is bold. Fierce. He also loves with laughter and joy. This book was the perfect union of romance, passion, and humor. But when Jordan fails to be honest with Aubrey, it could cost him the very thing that he thought he would never find in life. Her love.
One of my favorite things about this book is the writing. The author holds nothing back as she delivers a heartfelt narrative on love and fate. And the importance of truth in love. The execution of the story was flawless in the tangible and honest narrative of Aubrey and Jordan’s journey to love. This is not my first book by this author. With every new book of hers I am blown away by her talent of remarkable storytelling. There are some twists in this book that adds exciting layers and depth to the storyline. Ms. Nissenson is undoubtedly a master at crafting stories that are truly the epitome of romance. Her words are a testament to the power in love.
The Girl Of His Dreams was definitely one of my favorite reading experiences. Hilarious. Romantic. Sensual. This book had the perfect recipe of what all romance stories are made of! I was so easily invested in not only the storyline, but the character themselves. I laughed with them. Cried with them. And most importantly? I felt the moment they fell in love. Love is a risk. It’s giving someone else power to hurt you, but trusting them not to. Aubrey and Jordan materialized this. Despite how the story unfolds when all comes to light, it was their love that was never questioned. I could totally see this book come to life as a movie. There was so much heart and life within this book and the characters that I find myself thinking about these characters days after I read The End. Well done! I can’t wait to read the next Bachelor’s story!
Doctor Jordan Reeves is an obstetrician/ gynaecologist who has lived a carefree bachelor life, only smitten by one Tessa, who is out of bounds as she is a happily married woman with a family. One vacation in Hawaii he meets Aubrey Larson who could almost be Tessa's double and there is definite chemistry.
Told in the third person, which to be honest is refreshing as it's not that common nowadays, as well as from the two lead characters points of view however it does get a little confusing at times but seems to smooth out quickly enough. The story unfolds at quite a fast pace and it is very easy to read. A little predictable perhaps but a sweet romance with some passionate intimacy.
The lead characters are so much fun together, I particularly enjoyed the way Aubrey is her normal self around Jordan. The passion between them is lava hot too, so are the descriptions of their intimate scenes! 🌋 The sassy mouthed Aubrey fires off some great replies to Jordan and certainly knows how to hold her own, even though he is fourteen years her senior.
To answer my questions in my introduction yes I certainty do want to read more by this author, no I wasn't disappointed and yes I look forward to reading about Finn and Max in their books!
Jordan was a confirmed bachelor. He hadn't met a relationship that he liked. As a matter of fact, this man had no clue what a relationship was. It didn't help that he was not-so-secretly in love with a woman who was happily married and in love with her husband. Hoping to just 'get over it', he embarks on a vacation to Hawaii to get his groove back. Coincidence or not, he gets a glimpse of Aubrey and he's immediately fixated because she's a dead ringer for the crush he left behind. Aubrey didn't immediately fall prey to his charms, but Jordan was simply irresistible and these two started bumping pretties soon after they met. Hearts get involved and although Jordan has to go home eventually, neither one of them wants what they have to end. So what happens to the love when they get back to the real world?
Reading this book was similar to watching a romantic comedy. I could very easily see this story play out in a movie. It was light, fun, and had enough drama to keep it entertaining!
Jordan gets about. And whilst he plays up the fact that he never made a play for his married patient, the fact that Aubrey looks so much like her, and this prompts the relationship made me uncomfortable. I completely understand the reactions of all the other characters to that fact.
And this story was one of two parts - vacation and post vacation. For me, the post vacation element went off on a tangent, and was clearly signposted in the earlier narrative, and led to both elements (the romance and the reveal fallout) feeling a little rushed in conclusion.
A reasonably enjoyable read, if a little obvious in places.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
