I picked up a copy of this book since my daughters have read several other books by Julia DeVillers and enjoyed them very much. While I would say most of her other books are geared for the late tween/teen age, this one is clearly geared for the early tween years. It's written from the perspective of a 9 year old girl who's dad has just become President. The book follows Liberty through inauguration day where she does lots of typical kid like things (getting antsy waiting for speeches, being very excited about having certain priviledges from living in the White House, and wanting to prove herself worthy of being the President's daughter, to name a few). It has some really cute supporting characters including her secret service agent SAM, and a whole host of kids she buddies up with when she joins their White House tour. There is even the grumpy staff person who she has to win over with her cuteness.

I love that the way it's written....it really does seem like it's in the vernacular of a 9 year old child. One of my favorite sayings is when she talks about her dad "oathing the office" as he becomes President. And she uses made up words with -tastic tagged to the end of them, her favorite being pres-tastic! There is also some great trivia about some of the past president's kids.

I would definitely reccommend getting this book, it's adora-tastic and deligh-tastic all in one!

I read Trading Faces by Julia Devillers for my 5th grade book report. I really enjoyed the book and I got a good grade! When I found out Julia Devilllers wrote a new book I couldn't wait to get it.

Libery Porter First Daughter was exciting and fun to read. I liked reading about Liberty Porter's adventures in the White House. After I read this book I wished I lived in the White House! It seems so big and full of adventures. I loved this book and hopfully there will be more like it!

I picked up this book for 7 year old daughter to add to her summer reading list. She read it cover to cover last night, and couldn't stop giggling. To quote her "it was so funny that I almost bust a gut". This book is a fun way to get young kids excited about chapter books. She can't wait to read more Julia DeVillers books!

My 8 year old daughter loved this book. She loves reading fun books. But, not "Educational" books. I love that this gave her a tiny bit of both. She learned small things about the white house (like who secret service agents are, where the white house is, etc.) and she loved the story. Makes for a great book!

A Kid's Review on November 21, 2012
Format: Paperback
This is such a good book! Liberty Porter's dad becomes president, and Liberty becomes the First Daughter! This means Liberty gets to live in the White House. Sliding down the halls with yummy chocolate shops is a perfect story for me! But Miss Crum, one of the guardians is super strict about Liberty and her actions. With lots of gossip and fame, Liberty's dog Franklin and a secret agent man named Sam, will Liberty survive being related to the president? This was a pleasant quick read, and I enjoyed it very much.

A Kid's Review on February 9, 2012
Format: Kindle Edition
Have you ever wished that you could live in the White House? Meet Liberty Porter. Liberty was a regular 9 year old girl when her Dad was elected president of the United States of America. Liberty had to move to a new city and a new house with her dog Franklin. Liberty wants to be the best first daughter for her Dad. Liberty met a kid named James. Then Liberty met her secret service man named Sam. James took Liberty on a tour of the White House but on that tour they get in a little bit of trouble. Also they go on an amazing adventure around the White House.

I think this is one of my all time favorites of books. I like this book because it is easy to read and I think it had very good word choice! If you liked this book by Julia Devillers. You might like Liberty Porter First Daughter.

My daughter is 9, and it's been really hard to get her to read anything other than Goosebumps for the last couple of years. I bought this for her on a whim and gave it to her for Christmas. She read it right away and loved it. I just ordered the other two books.
