SPD Officer Maxine Edwards and her partner Rory discover a dead body in a photo studio. Turns out Seattle has themselves a serial killer on the loose. Max is recruited by the SBI & TREX to go undercover as a model to find the killer.
Photographer Tony James has a few secrets in his closet. He is very intrigued by the lovely new model Max Edwards....she is so very different from the other models he has taken photos of. Neither Max nor Tony thinks it's a good idea for the two of them to get physical with each other, but the sexual chemistry between the couple is about to drive them to the brink of insanity. Then the killer has their sights on a new target and Max is in the crosshairs of a serial murderer.....can TREX find the answer to this puzzle in time to save Max?
I really loved the characters in this one.....Maxine is such an amazingly strong female character, her partner in the SPD (Seattle Police Department) is a super good guy and their relationship is so sweet, then the new TREX Agent Nikki Cooper is one of their profilers and she also caught my eye as nice addition to the usual TREX group.
I love this series too because it's my duty as an honorary TREX member to figure out who-done-it before the end of the book.......sometimes I get it right too. This one really got my brain going with all the clues to unravel. Grab this one up people for a great night of reading!!
Book 10 – wow – and the series is still fresh as the first book and this story will draw you in with mystery and passion.
Girls on Film‘s characters are: Tony James and Maxine Edwards. Tony is not your typical alpha male x-military man, but a man with more artistic abilities with photographs and with feelings that run deep. The Studio Tony works in is Miles Anthony Studio and where the next murder takes place. The book slowly uncovers his past, which tells the reader why Tony has trust issues. Maxine (Max) Edwards has been a traffic cop for 7 years on the Seattle Police Department (SPD). We met Max briefly in book 9, that I read the analogy 12 Christmas Romances to Melt Your Heart and Ms. Adam’s novella was “Merry TREXmas. After the tragic death of a model, Carmen Ramirez, Max and her partner brought Carmen’s 12 year old autistic brother to the Trex Christmas party. This story picks up 1 week after this Christmas party.
As fate would have it, Max and her best friend and partner, Rory Higgins find the body which is when Trex and the SBI recruit her to go undercover as a model and help find the killer. This murder causes everyone to rethink Carmen’s apparent suicide 1 week earlier. Who is killing these models? After the horrific day of finding a body, Max goes to a bar and out of character; she has a one night stand with a man named Tony. The next morning when she arrived for her first shoot as a model, the mystery man who is the photographer is none other than Tony James, the man she slept with the night before. Oh boy!
From this point on Tony and Max’s life seems to spins out of control. First the murderer is calling Max’s phone with threats and she and Tony can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. Go on this fast paced mystery with a few twists and turns and of course the steamy passion will keep you turning the pages until the last work in the book.
This is a story about greed, jealousy, and revenge. Ms. Adams has crafted a story with the complexities of family, the plight of a woman working in a male-dominated profession, and the intricacies of intimate relationships. It's a romantic suspense thriller with a passion to warm your heart and action to keep you on the edge of your seat. And, once again, we get to visit, through the artistry of Ms. Adams's prose, with the TREX team that we've come to know and love in this series.

it was amazing

Great story that keeps you on your toes reading, such a mix of characters I almost got lost when they were altogether trying to keep straight who was from which agency or police department. Brilliant plot though and I thoroughly enjoyed it, nice seeing a female character as the lead as well. Mostly a fast paced story so you don't want to put it down, needing to keep reading to the end. I ended up reading into the early hours to finish it. A lot of testosterone floating around trying to outdo each other, was almost funny sometimes especially when Maxine gets the best of them and puts then down or at least in their place. A few twists here and there stop it from becoming predictable or boring. As this is a continuation of the TREX Series I do feel you should read them in order or you lose a bit of the main characters personal stories.
