This book is part of The Woodland Creek series, a collection of 30 stand-alone stories by 30 different authors, all revolving around the small town of Woodland Creek.

This particular story is about Cassie - or, as her mother used to call her, Cassidy - who found out she might just be turning into a demon on her 25th birthday! When she receives a strange book that is supposed to be sent by her long-dead mother, strange things start to happen. All the signs point her towards the direction of Woodland Creek, the place where she grew up before all the misfortunes and tragedies of her life took place and led her to leave the town!

When she arrives to Woodland Creek she is fairly happy to find there her childhood friend, Josh, whom she might actually feel an attraction about. And, then her best friend from all those years back, Jenn, also makes her appearance. And, all hell breaks loose... Literally!

This story was quite quick-paced, with lots of events taking place, both mysterious and adventurous! The heroine was quite strong-willed, and I just loved her and her slowly growing horns! Her romantic interest, Josh was also quite lovable, and I felt greatly fond of him! Her rival was also strong, something that only added more to the story!

The way the author wrote, I was able to completely grasp the mood of the story, and the tragedies the heroine has survived! I loved all the flashbacks, and the letters from Cassie's long-lost mother were just awesome, perky and straight to the point!

This is my first read by April Aasheim - I look forward to more by the author.
Cassis Martin - has been running from life, her mother died when she was young, and her Dad and brother died suddenly years later. She has been haunted by dreams for years - shadow people stalking her, she doesn't sleep much because of the dreams. She left the town she grew up in and ran away, and has been under a doctors care. The Phychiastris suggest she confront her demons (just wait) and go home. On her 21st birthday she makes the decision and goes home. Cassie runs into the guy she had a crush on for years and sparks start to fly. Then another friend shows up and interferes with what she and Josh were starting.

Demon's is a refreshing switch on Angel's and Demon's dark and light. Ms. Aasheim will keep you engaged and turning pages to see who is evil and who is the savior of the story. Her characters are strong and well developed. If you are looking for a great paranormal romance that is a bit different then I highly recommend this one. Well done.

I just can't do this justice. As with April Aasheim's other writing, this feels like the girl next door (even if she's becoming a demon). What about Josh and Jenn? Things happen. Cassie decides she doesn't have to follow the rules she's been a slave to her whole life. Good? Bad? Depends what you do, I guess.

This is the fifth book I have read by this author. The Good Girls (guide to becoming a Demon) is by far her best book yet.
The writing style will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story line is a page turner.
Cassie is finding her way into a life she didn't know was out there for her. I wont let on to all the details, but the book is great.!
I look forward to more.

I thought this was such a fun read and a great addition to the woodland creek world. The main character broke my heart but still had so much courage to keep going and then had me cheering for her. I haven't read anything by this author before but I will now :)

Cassie lost her mom when she was 5, then lost her dad and brother on her 24th birthday. How unbearable and yet she seems to be decently ok. She's trying to do something with her life and she knows something's got to give. She remembers all her happy times when her dad, brother, his best friend Josh, and her best friend Jen, used to go camping out at Woodland Creek. She also remembers how Josh saved her life and she fell in love with him. So after receiving a few signs, she heads back to her past.

Cassie's got some crazy to deal with- she's got something demon going on, there's shadow people who follow her, nightmares she doesn't understand, and her shrink says she needs to face her demons- her shrink has no idea. Lol and then Cassie runs into Josh. Cassie wants to tell him she's loved him for years. And then they run into her old friend Jen. And things get really complicated.

I really liked this one. There's a great suspense that follows the mystery and the romance is well done because it built and had to work itself up. I was glued to the pages from the start and I enjoyed the whole thing. I liked all of the characters and the story was well written. I look forward to reading more from the author. 5 DEMON PAWS!!
