I cried when I got to the end of this no joke.
The ending of this which I will not spoil is what we all knew was gonna happen and even knowing what it was going to be I still cried in the last minute.
This series was absolutely fantastic I wish I could’ve had a happier ending but it had the right ending I don’t think he’s ever going to be a series like this again.
I hope they found peace

Rather grim manga about the possible future of Humanity on Earth. The whole Earth turned into a big Urban layer cake with too many people which becomes too complex to maintain and collapses. A,mega decline in civilization and population die off. I was hoping the two girls would find a cache of food supplies at least and a warm shelter.

The characters, the world they faced, their dogged determination to see life through in spite of the futility of their situation, all are done with such a gentle touch that you are drawn deeply into their lives. And once you've resigned yourself to their fate, one last illustration, done better than any Marvel post-credits scene, keeps your hope alive.

An absolutely phenomenal end to such a fantastic and touching series. I was worried there wouldn't be enough material to wrap this series up and that it would just repetitious, but boy was I wrong. This entire manga series has been so well polished, it's got to be up there with some of my favorite manga of all time. For those who are looking for more of a conclusion than what the anime gave, this is it. I can't recommend buying all 6 manga enough. My thanks to the author for being able to craft such beautiful characters that shine all the brighter in such a dismal setting.

at random intervals...
no warning whatsoever.
This last volume is no exception. We knew how this journey was going to end from the start, but reaching that end has taken us far - and the scenery along the way is a look at the human soul through the eyes of a child. Our two guides on this tour finally reach their destination, but the things they showed us about ourselves need to stay with us long after we leave them at the top of their world.
