If the characters can't find anything about each other to like, then how can you expect the readers to like them?

I'm sorry to say that this book was very amateurish. All of the background information was given at the beginning. The author wrote the thoughts of every character in a scene instead of writing a scene from the perspective of one character and then showing the other characters' thoughts through their actions or words. When we know what everyone thinks, there's no tension in the story.

The story lines were also implausible. For 90% or more of the book, two of the characters are self-centered and bitchy, then suddenly they become forgiving and reasonable. Sure, this happens in other books, but it's the result of character growth, which isn't shown in this story. The characters are exactly the same for the entire story and then suddenly, they change.

One character's son is living in a cult. She finds him there, he won't leave with her. She goes home and tells her husband and he gets mad at her for looking for the son. So, for several months, she does nothing to find her son. But, one day her husband and one of the other friends goes to get him and they are able to get him out of the cult in a day. Really?

The characters were shallow , the plot unbelievable and the entire book was a waste of my time. I finished the book hoping the end was going to make it worth my time- it did not. If these women were friends then no one needs enemies. ( On top of that the Australian expressions and sayings were a distraction and nuisance.

I'm a huge fan of long stories when the length is warranted but this is just not it. The characters are mostly unlikeable. The book is too wordy. Forget the sp errors, there is just nothing to really grab you and make you want to continue reading this book. Skip it.

This book really dragged on for me. The characters were superficial and unbelievable, although Jasmine and Carla were the most likable. The book was a cheesy soap opera and I found myself laughing in disbelief at the plot line, it was ridiculous at some points. I would not recommend this book.

I loved this book. Not your average story! I was constantly filled with anticipation of what would happen next! The author continued to surprise me with with twists that I didn't expect to happen. Great read for those that love a little mystery.

I could not get into this book. The characters are not engaging at all, and several are downright annoying. The plot was basically four completely self-absorbed women sitting around carrying on conversations with themselves while drinking champagne. I will delete this one from my Kindle account for sure.

The story of four childhood friends that reunite every year for a girls weekend. Each of the women have challenges that they must face. One has entered into an affair, the other is trying to reconcile with her husband. Another is looking for her missing son, and the other tries to determine if she can continue to betray a friend.
I enjoyed this story. It was more like a soap opera that you know is not real, but you go along for the ride because it is not a bad ride. This is a easy summer read. Take a glass of wine, sit on the beach and enjoy.
