From two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning cartoonist Michael Ramirez comes a collection of conservative political cartoons forming a satirical history of the Obama era, with a foreword by Dick Cheney and an afterword by Rush Limbaugh.
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare is a trenchant and outright hilarious collection of political cartoons, presenting a wonderfully intelligent and beautifully drawn snapshot of the absurdities of the Obama presidency. Ramirez tackles everything from Obamacare to the economy, foreign policy to culture wars, the environment, and much more.
Says Bill O’Reilly of this great talent: “Michael Ramirez says more in one cartoon than most talking heads say in a full day.” With Give Me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare, he offers the conservative reader a compilation of his award-winning cartoons—and a clever way to remember the eight years they’ve hated!

PRAISE FOR GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME OBAMACARE
"Michael Ramirez says more in a cartoon than most writers say in 1000 words—and he’s a lot funnier. It’s probably why he’s the best political cartoonist in the business and explains his Pulitzer Prizes. In his latest collection of biting satire and insight, Ramirez calls on all of us to join him in a primal scream of “Give me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare!” -- Governor Mike Huckabee
"Michael Ramirez is the greatest cartoonist in world history. His cartoons express in a picture, hilariously, what it takes me hundreds of words to communicate. This will be everyone's favorite book on your coffee table." -- Ann Coulter, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Adios America

"Every page of Give Me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare reminds me why I’m blessed to have Michael Ramirez as a friend - and why you need to buy, read and keep this book so your grandchildren know the truth about what happened in our era. In the space of a single page Michael can make you laugh, cry and wonder,“Why didn’t I think of that?” Michael Ramirez is the Jonathan Swift of our age - a satirist with a powerful pen - and a gift for holding the powerful accountable." -- Oliver North, #1 New York Times bestselling author of American Heroes on the Homefront
"Michael Ramirez is my favorite editorial cartoonist." -- Thomas Sowell, New York Times bestselling author of Basic Economics
"Two-time Pulitzer Prize-Winning editorial cartoonist Michael Ramirez is assuming the role of our Hogarth...Ramirez provides the conservative movement with an artist who is indeed an artist, and we can and should celebrate his real achievements—and heed his counsel." -- National Review
"Michael Ramirez is, hands down, the best editorial cartoonist in the business today, and this collection of his efforts during the Obama Administration proves the point. Through his wry humor, understatement and unmatched sense of irony, Ramirez captures our recent history in ways professional historians should envy. Nobody does it better." -- Ambassador John Bolton
"Michael Ramirez is the Thomas Nast of our time, whose work not just provides memorable images but also wields powerful arguments. His collected works is a penetrating a history of the Obama years." -- Michael Barone

One of America's Best Editorial Cartoonists
Ramirez drawings are notable for their high quality draftsmanship, biting humor and independent spirit. Given today's media tilt to the left, being independent means that Ramirez doesn't parrot the liberal media tropes or reflexively parrot progressive shibboleths. To be sure, Ramirez isn't blind to the political dinosaurs on the right nor does he ignore Republican blathering and bafflegab.

Michael Ramirez is wrong about almost everything, but never mind that.
This book has been put together for an audience that is probably already steamed at me for that first sentence; however, I’m not focusing on doctrine. Rather, it’s worth taking note of the political cartoonist as artist.
Ramirez is not merely someone who draws well, mind you, but a creative force who takes a concept, quickly boils it down to its essence, executes a sophisticated and often complex drawing, writes exactly the right words to make it complete, and knocks it out in less than a day. He is one of the best political cartoonists around because he knows exactly how to convey his idea instantly and engage the viewers who will either cheer or turn purple with rage. A few might not get it and others might not be moved, but there’s a good chance they’re deceased.
A couple of examples show his deftness. “De Blasio’s New York City” is a stark work, showing the iconic “I (Heart) NY” graphic with with a red hammer and sickle in place of the heart. Another that features a “Trojan Donkey” (referring to Obamacare) is a masterwork of detail.
Ramirez is simply a terrific journalist/commentator whose gift has been acknowledged by two Pulitzer Prizes and scads of other awards. He’s been doing it for years and is a great short-form storyteller, commentator and top flight artist. “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Obamacare” will show you how it’s done.

I have seen Ramirez's cartoons before on Facebook. Sometimes I even repost them (and I'm not a big Facebooker). But when I saw that they were collected in book form, I knew I had to order it. I have friends on all sides and in all parties. Most get defensive anytime you try to talk about the logic (or lack thereof) of many governmental happenings. They act like it's a personal attack on them, and it's not. But let them check out this book, and since they don't see it as "in their face", they will see the humor in the cartoon and then they will usually be more honest about what is good and what is bad for the country. Even for the times when they won't change their stance on an issue, they still usually come away at least understanding why I see things the way I do... they "get it", and they don't necessarily think I am wrong. At least we can disagree and still remain good friends on all the other things that we agree on.

I've been a fan of Michael Ramirez for years and this beautiful book, a compilation of just a small amount of his best work over the last seven years, is a must have for anyone who appreciates a sharp, incisive - and frequently laugh-out-loud - look at contemporary American politics and culture.
His artwork is evocative and long-time readers know to look for the myriad of small details he lavishes into many scenes (e.g. check out what is on the desk or walls of the Oval Office)
Rather than a straight chronology of his images, the book is organized by topic, each chapter prefaced by an ... ahem... ironic quote from President Obama.
I have my own copy and plan making this book a Christmas gift to a few people.

I thought I had seen all the cartoons and bought the book since the first one was so good. I came to find that more than half of the cartoons were new to me and I keep up with Investor business daily. It was a long wait but well worth it and I have no idea how Michael come up with the brilliant and right on the mark hits with his work. I am hoping hillary gets arrested and joe biden gets in so Michael and the other cartoonists can have a hay day. Great work Michael!

I don't often buy political books but made an exception with this one. It is an honest and humorous look at Obamacare. I ended up purchasing a few as gifts for my like minded friends.

Michael Ramirez is a national treasure. He's won two Pulitzers for his political cartoons but he should win one every year. He has the ability to take complex issues and with a few strokes of his pen, illustrate the absurdity of the American political landscape. Ramirez cuts through the haze of the American political scene and shows us the humor in a situation that otherwise might make one want to weep. I highly recommend this timely collection of cartoons which roast the Obama years.
