This is the sequel to Give Me Love. It is recommended that you read Give Me Love before this book.

(Quote)Everytime I found something special, it was snatched away.

Quinn Salisbury didn't do anything wrong. She just suffered through a difficult childhood and abusive step-father and eventually got a little bit of justice herself...at least for awhile. Her best friend Lucy is determined to get her out and make her live a little. And she has one wild night with a stranger that rocks both of their worlds.

Little did she know that her new job and her one night stand had a connecting factor. Soon Travis is right smack dab in the middle of her life. Quinn is now the new assistant for Mac and the band Jamieson,so all of our old friends from Give Me Love are back : the room mates, the band and the "Bad ass brigade." And since Mac's brothers, including Travis and their security company are all tied in with the band, they are always around. But she fits right in, knows her stuff, and is enjoying her new role and friends.

Travis...Oh my...He is all kinds of bad ass alpha, hot and sexy. He made me shiver when he opened his mouth. His passion, his protectiveness, his magnetism, and that bit of vulnerability when dealing with Quinn did me in. sigh. Seeing the deep emotions under the tough exterior just made him more appealing to me.

(Quote)Quinn--the most precious gem to ever enter my life. That she'd been hurt and so severely damaged she'd lost the strength to live and hope, just about broke my f***ing heart. She was sweet and endearing, made me laugh and left me in tears.

Quinn is sassy, strong, but also broken and felt unworthy. She wants to protect those around her and not cause trouble for anyone.

Life hasn't been kind to Quinn Salisbury. With a mother that is anything but and a step-dad that only knew how to get into big trouble, Quinn tried her best to survive. And she did. She had even found her happily-ever-after.

Until it was taken away from her.

Several years later, she's still doing only that. Surviving. She's content with the life she has and the few friends. At first sight, one may think she's weak but is, in fact, actually a strong person, a motivated character to leave behind all the nasty stuff from her past and to rise above it all. She manages to prove she is better than her mother, for one.

Things really do change for her when she meets Travis Valentine. Remember him? Oh, I couldn't forget about him! When I first met him in Give Me Love, he was the overprotective but hot older brother. Tall, blond hair and green eyes. Oh and he was scruffy, did I mention that? Nasty job that slowly eats away at him, he admitted to not sleeping enough and smoking far too much.

Anyway, turns out, there are times when a one-nightstand does not remain a one-nightstand and Quinn's path crosses with Travis' and well, sparks fly. Add in the Mob, a crazy but loving family - the Valentines - with the Jamieson band and Travis' friends, things will go down. You'll melt, you'll laugh and you'll munch on your nails, ruining your nail polish because there's some action in it to keep you on your toes too.

It was bound to happen. Kate McCarthy does not disappoint with the second book of this series.

I love the glimpses we get of Jared and Evie; Mac and Jake ---> these two will kill me, for sure and of course, the Badass Brigade.

Travis is a fave of mine. Has been since book #1.

I just finished Give Me Strength and I just freaking loved it. For me this series has gotten better and I cannot wait for more!! This is apart of the Give Me series so to really understand what is going on you have to start with the first one which is Give Me Love.

Jared, Mac and Travis are the Valentines but there is also a band called Jamieson that has Evie, Henry, Frog, Jake and Cooper. Mac is manager of this band. Jared works with Travis, Casey and Coby at a consulting firm that handles dangerous situations. This whole series is centered around the Valentine family and their friends.

Give Me Love starts with Jared and Evie. That was a very cute story. Now you have Give Me Strength which is Travis and Quinn. Quinn has never been wanted. Not by her mother. Not by her step dad David, he abuses her. She doesn't even know who her dad is. Just feels like she is alone. but the only people that she has at this point is Lucy and Rick, her neighbors. It takes a lot of Quinn to open up and let people in. Lucy wants her to have a life, with friends and of course a hot guy. Here walks in Travis. They meet at a bar one night, feeling like she should take that step, sleeps with Travis but leaves in the morning because you know how we all would feel in the morning after waking up with a gorgeous guy but realizing you acted like a hussy when you are not really like that. That morning she has to up her interview with none other then Mac for Jamieson Records! Can you imagine what is going to happen?? You will have to read and see..

I really loved this story. It has so much depth and heart. You will not be able to help but fall in the love with the whole story, the characters. EVERYTHING! Kate did an awesome job keeping the characters the same as in Give Me Love.
