Taydom Gaines, thirty-two, is the king of commercial real estate in Texas - though he still dabbles on the residential side because it is good for business. The mysterious billionaire is a sought-after bachelor playboy in spite of his rude manners and aloof ways. His hard work and devotion to the job eventually led to the founding of Gaines Inc. Taydom expects his emoloyees to work hard as well, and many have achieved great success under his leadership, including his best friend Andrew. Andrew still enjoys living the playboy lifestyle, but for some time Taydom has found it tiresome.
When Elsie arrives at a busy open house, she is surprised when a ruggedly handsome man singles her out but she happily engages in playful banter. For the first time in forever, she feels the stirrings of attraction. But men like him never go for women like her - she is girl next door cute and doesn't obsess about her weight - so when she discovers he is the listing agent and he gives her his card, his attention makes perfect sense.
When Taydom sees the striking woman with curves across the room, he knows he wants her. He kicks himself afterward for not getting her number, then obsesses until he finally sees her again. Taydom doesn't do relationships, so he convinces himself that despite his obsessive attraction, he can easily get Elsie out of his system. Somehow he finds himself renting her his guest house, and he knows he is in trouble.
Taydom and Elsie's chemistry drips off the page! They quickly give into it, but neither has any expectations. They begin an undefined relationship and build a friendship, yet they continue to live in denial that there might be actual feelings involved. Their love unfolds slowly, eventually catching up with their chemistry, and both Elsie and Taydom experience a beautiful transformation by the end of their story. It all culminates in a tearful ending in which the couple gets their happy ending.
Taydom and Elsie's story about family and loss brings together two people who aren't yet ready for love, yet love eventually finds them anyway. The story is well-written. The plot is nicely developed. The characters are carefully defined and feel authentic. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Taydom and Elsie. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was incredible, very interesting, and as always very well written.
The story and characters he always brings to live are fantastic, and there is no doubt that he should be a one-click author in your list.
This time he brings a love story between a gorgeous curvy school counselor and an full on alpha Real State Agent.
The chemistry between the Elsie and Taydom was spot on and hot.
The banter and flirtatious moments between them were extremely entertaining and very enjoyable.
I also loved the fact that there were the perfect amount of drama with the perfect amount of emotions.
As always, Weston knows how to bring us perfect love story that will definitely melt your heart.
But, I have to say it - Taydom? What kind of name is that? I tried to imagine someone uttering his name in the throes of passion, and I’m just not seeing it. That was really a tough thing for me to get over in this book - sorry about that.
All things considered, the book was certainly worth the read and had a satisfactory conclusion.
I hate the fact that a certain scenario got twisted around. It seems that Taydom might have mislead Elsie. I think it was honestly a mistake- judging by his reaction. But I'm so thankful for Taydom's reaction to Elsie's news. It made my heart sing. I literally put my fist in the air. It's such a welcomed site. Completely opposite of the usual reaction and I love it.
This was an absolutely amazing book. I enjoyed myself immensely. Really nice job.
I get where the title comes from. Coming from the little mishap between Taydom and Elsie.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
