A truly heartbreaking story of tremendous loss. Tori and Chase are both so broken from losses they have endured in their lives. Chase is making strides in moving on but Tori has created a completely new persona to shield herself from the past and any future pain of loss. She is considered an Ice Queen with no emotions.
When Tori is forced to endure grief counseling, she is just going through the motions in order to keep her job. Chase, however, has different plans for her. He wants to save her. Can these two become each other's salvation and finally propel them toward acceptance of their respective losses.
While I was reading, and "figuring" things out, I could feel the lump in my throat and found myself looking over at my fiancee and wondering what I would do, how would I react and then I told him the story and how it was making me feel. I felt the devastation of their losses, the betrayals and the pain. I also felt the beauty of what could be for them. Truly a remarkable, heartbreaking but beautiful story!
Give Me Yesterday includes a sad sad tragedy of not one life, but two lives of very important people to Victoria Larkin. Her family is gone, she’s all alone. She had EVERYTHING and in a split moment, it’s all gone forever. How will Victoria cope with this tragic loss? Will she be able to find love ever again? Let me just say, what you think will happen just doesn’t… everything spins circles around you while reading and this has the best ending ever! Obviously I can’t say what it is but holy wow!
Ms. Webster and Ms. Christensen deliver a story full of emotion, love, heart break and steam in Give Me Yesterday. I enjoyed every bit of this book and couldn’t walk away once I started. Everything I normally look for in a 5 star read was delivered perfectly in a nice little package on my Kindle. This isn’t a hearts and flowers story, but it sure makes you root for Chase and Victoria every step of the way and hoping they both come out together in 1 piece. Give Me Yesterday was another book I devoured and loved and I know others will feel the same way too. <3
“I want to give it all to her one day. Children. Marital bliss. A happily ever after.”
Chase is a college professor who also has a help group for people who have lost loved ones. When Tori is ordered to attend the group, Chase is knocked off his feet. This beautiful woman is lost in herself. His goal is to bring back the woman he knows is hiding inside.
They do not have an easy journey. There are tears, yelling, laughing, tears.
But Chase is also battling his own demons.
What happens when their demons cross??
This was an amazing story!! It really touched my heart and showed me its okay to move on in life after a loved one passes away.
