BUT as soon as I came back downstairs from hiding it in my room, my mom walked in and told us that our great grandfather had died that afternoon. I was upset, as was the rest of my family. Later that night, my mom was especially down and I decided to give her the GMH book then. I think it lifted her spirits a little at least. :)
The pictures themselves are very well done in the book. Definitely worth the $10.
Ah... I really enjoyed the little stories inside. It was a fantastic little book. As the title said, it gave me a lot of hope for the brighter side of humanity. Something to take a look at when I'm feeling down on my luck.
My mother, after having only a quick flick through and not a proficient internet user, LOVED this book and proceed to order 5 copies to distribute among her friends.
I bought this book for myself and still like flicking through it from time to time but it is much more suited to a friend or family who don't know what stock images are.
I feel my 3 star rating is a bit harsh, but after working in graphic design I just can't look past the heavy use of stock images.
I mean, all they needed to do is write the stories/comments on post-it notes/cards, place them in random places around the city/home/countryside and take a photo. Bam instant quirky love filled positive book without the cheapness of stock images.
I frequently visit [...] because of the book. I suggest you do the same guys. :)
I'm going to make this a stocking-stuffer this year for my parent's and cousins.
The book itself is amazing - small in dimensions, but I think I know why it is - a small thing like this can mean a world to somebody else. The 127 most inspiring bite-sized stories are so great that some of them just make you cry. Really make you cry. You still have that hope in humans in love and in humanity of other peoples. Over 127 stories of real people challenging real stuff that makes you cry and actually think about everything. That someone risks his life for his friends, someone fights with cancer and survives etc etc. We need to put Facebook, Twitter and so on, down for a while and read this book. It lets you know that there is still love and humanity in people. I can't put a real review in this few words - I just can't explain it. You have to read it to understand.
Recommended? At all costs.

This book is great and inspiring but DO NOT get it for the Kindle! The print is way too small no matter how big you make the font! Buy the book instead!Published on May 2, 2011 by R. Petty
