SAVE $354 a year & STOP buying water bottles! Having clean water is essential but can get expensive. Delivered bottles cost about $8 a piece & at the common 4 bottles a month this adds up to a significant cost of $354 a year.
Our Water Filter Professional Bottom Loading Water Cooler uses a Brita pitcher filter & plain tap water instead of expensive bottled water. At 4 bottles filtered a month the cost is an affordable $30 a year; a hefty savings of $354.
With a normal cooler, you need to store a month's supply of bottles, arrange for deliveries, or lug them home from the grocery store. A filtering water cooler is the perfect solution.
Unlike normal filtering coolers, our Water Filter Cooler uses highly effective Brita pitcher filters to clean your water. Just fill up bottles with tap water & place bottle at bottom of cooler. Thus with no need to hire plumbers for installation & no permanent plumbing hookup, you now have the freedom to move cooler where you like.
To keep your water tasting fresh for years our cooler automatically cleans itself using unstable oxygen self cleaning technology. This kills & prevents the buildup of bacterial biofilm that develops in normal coolers that are not cleaned regularly.
Glacial Professional Grade water coolers consistently outperform other commercial grade water coolers in both cooling & heating temperatures as well as lifespan.
* Incompatible with glass water bottles and water bottle filters except Brita pitcher filters.

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who posted a review and included information on the filter! If I had not read any of the postings I would never have even known where to put that darn thing or how to install it. Yes, you are absolutely right, the cooler is great, but the instructions, well, they suck. HOWEVER, I received my cooler just days ago and it is now installed. I'm very happy with the unit with the exception of a couple of items (outside of the instructions):
1. The area to place a cup is only large enough for a cup but not a hand-held water bottle. It is difficult to fill bottles.
2. The pre-filled water dispenser bottles you can get at large retailers such as BJ's are somewhat rectangular and do not fit in this unit without some adjustment. I had to cut some of the foam that the unit was packed in to fit the bottom of the unit in order to lift the bottle above the lip on the bottom of the door. It worked great, but I almost sent it back because the door would not close easily with the bottle inserted.
The unit can get noisy if you are listening to it, but no more than my freezer and refrigerator when they are running sometimes. Fortunately for me, they only run all at the same time once in a great while, so I'm OK with that. The trade-off for cold water is worth it.
Overall, I'm so happy I have this unit. The last one from Britta, the engine failed and no more cold water. The filter mechanism on this unit is much easer to deal with and only needs one filter at a time, PLUS it lets you know when to change the filter. Great unit so far! I'm glad I made the purchase.
Hot is hot. Cold is cold. I don't see enough difference in this function to comment except it works fine.
Now for the cons. There are two spotlights that never turn off up where the water comes out. It is like having a big night light on 24/7. That bothers me, but since my room isn't in the kitchen, I can live with it. But still, I don't like it. There should be a switch to turn it off. You can't get any 1/2 gallon pitchers filled without significantly tipping them. And lastly, the noise. I really hate white noise in appliances. If there was a deal buster, it would be the noise. But, it isn't all the time. When I fill my morning cup with hot water for coffee, it sounds like a jet taking off (for those who have ever lived close to an airport. . .) It lasts less than a minute though. Other than that, I can't hear it unless it is cleaning or cooling/heating. That part sounds like a normal appliance and doesn't last long.

I spent quite awhile researching different water coolers and Brands I was drawn to this particular Brand and model for a few reasons...
(1) A bottom-loading unit.
(2) Hot & Cold water
(3) Ice ring technology
(4) Self contained Brita water filter
(6) Stainless Steel Finish
I placed my order on Wednesday March 13, 2013 through Amazon's marketplace being the best price the internet has to offer. The item arrived at my door on Monday March 18, 2013 by UPS. The cooler was well packaged for shipment and arrived undamaged.
Following the directions in the manual I placed the cooler up right and left it for 4 hours. During which time I read the manual cover to cover and registered the warranty online.
After waiting the 4 hours I washed the unit inside and out with warm soapy water. Filled an empty 18lt.(5gal) water bottle and attached the probe to the bottle. The manual states in 5 different places to make sure probe is seated onto the water bottle. This is something that worried me, as the probe did not seem to be seated onto the bottle properly. After several attempts I called the contact number for assistance. Apparently the probe is universal but does not seat firmly onto all types of water bottles, and may sit loosely around the neck. This is not an issue as long as the probe draws water to the reservoirs.
I sid the water bottle into the compartment, closed the door and plugged the unit in, filled and rinsed the reservoirs twice as instructed in the manual. I then slid the water bottle out of the lower compartment to gain access to the Brita water filter housing, which is located at the upper right hand side at the back of the compartment. The manual does not give instructions on how to install the Brita water filter. Here is how you do it... grasp the housing unit and pull it down and out towards you, it swings down turning the water flow off from the probe. While in the lowered position twist (about a ' turn) and pull out the housing. Unscrew the cover and give the two pieces a quick rinse under a tap and then slide the tapered end of the Brita filter into the holder until it fits snug. Screw on the cover and return the housing to the water cooler. Put water bottle into the compartment and close the door. Plug in the water cooler and in about 20 min. you will have piping hot filtered water. It takes about 1 hour to build a ring of ice in the cold-water reservoir.
Although I have only had this water cooler a couple of days I'm very happy with it. I filled an empty water bottle straight from our kitchen cold water tap. The filtered cold water is well child and "tastes clean, fresh and cold". The filtered hot water makes a good cup of instant coffee or cocoa and is hot enough to steep a tea bag or prepare instant Cup-A-Soup.
I like the piano key dispensing and their placement on the top has them out of reach of toddlers. The hot water key is child resistant. The dispensing nozzles are at nice heights no need to bend over to draw water from them. The unit looks and feels rich and high-end with its sturdy stainless steel body and very little use of plastic. Placement of the water bottle into a hidden compartment is very easy, no lifting of heavy bottles and they are out of sight. The Brita water filter means no more lugging heavy water bottles from the water store. A weekly chore I will not miss.
The compressor makes very little noise when it comes on our refrigerator is much louder. The pump is rather loud but runs just a few seconds while filling the reservoirs and not really bothersome. The digital display on the front of the unit shows the time, empty water bottle warning, self-cleaning schedule and when to replace Brita water filter.
From delivery at my door to the first glass of cold refreshing filtered water was about 5' hours. I would happily recommend this water cooler and Classic_Appliance to family and friends or any one looking for a bottom loading water cooler.
I will update this review in 30 days if there are any issues to report.
* The pump runs almost every time you pour water, and it's loud. I have this in a home office and if I'm working late I risk waking people up in the next room when the pump kicks in. I'm probably going to look into replacing the pump with something quieter.
* The clock seems to run fast, every month my clock drifts 5 minutes ahead and it's annoying to reset it.
Only little issue : I cannot get the screw back after removing it from the hot drain water in order to clean the machine. i I I noticed that the srew itself is not uniform. Not a big deal, I will change it tomorrow when I will get time. Read previous review to know how to install the Brita filter .
