The guitars all sound awesomely mixed and EQ'd. I wish they would have done some of the organ and piano pieces that I've been listening to A LOT lately, but then all those pieces are covered endlessly so I understood why they chose the more 'orchestral' pieces. I'd say its extremely nice to be able to listen to these instead of the originals sometimes just because these are mixed nicely and feel modern (when you want that modern sound sometimes). I'd say this is a must have for any PG aficionado ...much higher up in rank than "Strung Out (2014)" or even the Koyaanisqatsi 1998 rework. Props to the Dublin Guitar Quartet!

I can't remember the last time I loved a new P. Glass recording this much. And I have all of them. Seriously. Seriously. Seriously.

I'll be looking for more music from the Dublin Guitar Quartet. They've done an amazing job of interpreting and performing P. Glass with skill, subtlety and emotion, which is particularly important for Mishima, some of his most emotional work. They really bring something new to these pieces which can't be easy. I hope their fingers have healed!

A very nicely done confluence of acoustic guitar and Philip Glass. Fans of either will enjoy this. Transpositions are well thought out and the performance is nicely done. I only wish more recordings from this quartet were available, I would like to hear what they do with other composers as well.

I also found the music captivating and enjoyable. I would buy another CD of Dublin Guitar Quartet at the drop of a hat. Notwithstanding, the actual physical CD itself is of poor quality. Two tracks simply stopped playing 3/4 of the way through and there were numerous skips in other tracks. The vendor supplied a inferior product.

The Kronos Quartet recording of Glass Quartets has always been a favorite of mine Kronos Quartet Performs Philip Glass. I would classify it as Middle-Glass: Not the early stark minimalist, and not quite where he is now with different harmonies and rhythms. The strings are beautiful with their capability to sustain a pitch, but the rhythms are smeary compared to the guitar. The guitar version lets one hear the rhythmic patterns clearly, and they are the essence of Glass's music structure. They also can strum a chord, adding an extra dimension to the patterns. I recommend this to any fans of acoustic guitar music. I hope the Dublin Quartet releases another album; they are excellent players.
