Thanks to "Gleefully Gluten-Free" by Ruth Naylor, going gluten-free doesn't have to mean giving up on all those tasty treats you love! So far we have tried the apple crisp, pumpkin bars, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. There is no sacrificing flavor or texture in these recipes, they were absolutely delicious and my grandson loved them!
You don't need to have a gluten intolerance to enjoy these scrumptious desserts! I highly recommend this book!
The introductory material offers an overview and description of the main ingredients for a gluten-free kitchen, and is invaluable reference alone worth much more than the price of the book. I wish I'd had that helpful and well-written material when I first started investigating gluten-free cooking and baking a number of years ago.
I hope the author will offer more collections of this caliber in a wider range of categories. These are all wonderful, but some of us have to limit these types of treats in our diets. Even so, we all deserve a treat now and then and I know where I'm going to look for inspiration the next time I'm in the mood!
"Gleefully Gluten-Free" takes all that I'd learned up a notch, at least. The author has researched the subject well and has a lot of valuable information about ingredients as well as some very wonderful recipes of both sweet and savory treats that can be enjoyed by the entire family... and not just the person with gluten intolerance.
This is a very worthwhile book to get, especially since it can be with all of your other cookbooks on your Kindle, Kindle Fire, or iPad in the kitchen, taking up a LOT less shelf space.
