Voted "Best Speaker" at Toastmasters International Speech Area Contest
A powerful journey that depicts the life of a Lebanese immigrant single mother. Displaced by a sectarian civil war into a land she has only seen on television, a young woman relies on her courage and determination to navigate the uncertain challenges of assimilation and single parenthood.
This collection of micro-memoirs, originally presented as speeches, reveals optimism in the face of adversity and the true power of family love and loyalty. In eight engaging short stories, Sylvie reflects on flashing moments in her past.

The Ellis Family
The author related her chilling experiences growing up in Lebanon, surrounded by bullets and bombs, and coming to the United States at age 18 with her family. She faces challenges raising her kids and having to deal with ADHD. She introduces us to members of her family. And that’s about all. I’m waiting for the sequel.
I read your book and enjoyed it very much; took me down memory lane in Lebanon! I loved the way you talked about your parents and your ability to never give up! Very inspiring! Excellent book, God Bless! Maro M
