About the Author

Peter Wilson has had a varied professional career, starting in the UK, going from Engineer to Physicist to Engineer to Computer Scientist to Information Scientist, eventually retiring from The Boeing Company in the USA. Sometime along the way he was the Editor in Chief of the IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications magazine. Peter has always had an interest in type and typography, and started using LaTeX seriously around 1985 when being an editor of ISO 10303 Standard documents, some of which extended to 1500 or so pages. Since retiring he has become a letterpress printer, using the old technology of lead type and printers ink, and a bookbinder. In 2009 he received a Gold Award from the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen at the International Gallery for "Superb Craftsmanship in the Production of Twelve Chinese Great Scholars". For more articles by Peter, and a complete archive of the journal in which Glisterings was published, see www.tug.org/TUGboat.
